What year is Mario seriously on the hot seat?

I think the jury’s out on whether he succeeds here or not. Fact is, a lot of coaches turn the corner year 3 (e.g., Steve Sarkisian, James Franklin, Mike Norvell, etc.). He’s made some terrible decisions though (initial coordinator hires, sticking with TVD, not getting a transfer QB in the portal, etc.)
That’s fair. Mario has made questionable calls this year and made good ones on others. That being said, with time, we won’t ever be in the QB situation like this again. I suspect, in the future, we will be able to bench a QB, and play a decent backup IF (I doubt) should another QB reach Kirby Freeman levels again.

You guys are lying to yourselves if you think he's even close to the hot seat. He gets 4 classes 5 seasons no questions
Only reason a coach gets fired before is if they aren't recruiting well; Mario is.
They aren't improving the roster; Mario is.

As long as the roster depth and recruiting are moving on the right direction he gets 5 years before he's considered on hot seat.

Year 4. Year 3 will begin to get hot quick but he will get year 4 for sure. I believe UM will treat him like Harbough and give him so much time to figure it out. This year has just been so weirdly bad. I’m if we were told we were 6-3 rn with wins over A&M and Clemson everyone would’ve taken it but they way 2 of the loses have happened removes the good wins bc the losses are so bad

Based on what?

He's going nowhere in year 4. Year 5 I think is make or break. He may pull it out of the fire with a 10 win season and a bowl win in year 5, but if year 6 shows decline from there then it may be curtains for him.

He’s not getting fired before year 8. I have a hard time believing somebody is gonna pay $30 million or more for a buyout. This might be it. All the chips were put in the middle for this guy. If he continues to fail, this program will done. They wont do this again. Barring an invite to the Big 10 and the cash that comes from that, he’s our only hope. At least until somebody from this site becomes a billionaire and pays for a real coach.

If we hit on the portal QB I expect to hit on. Flip a certain QB. Luke is going to be a monster when his time comes. That room will be greatly improved with time.
