The OL was the worst unit on the field by far. But, I picked the LBs for the simple reason that I believe the OL has talent, some depth (not enough), and will get better. The LBs have talent, too, but the lack of depth there really showed late in the game. If the offense can't start sustaining drives, we may be suiting Pete up at LB by the time F$U rolls around.
Their inability to provide any sort of decent pass coverage was glaring at times too. Again.
At least we didn't see D-lineman constantly covering wide outs.
Yeah, instead we just put our linebackers covering the slot and sometimes playing zone to on the flats and getting destroyed all game. Why does it matter if we have Crawford, Burns, Gunter, Howard, and Elder if we NEVER get out of the base and go Nickel, Dime.
Our linebackers got abused in coverage all game. Our Dline improved terrible to below average. And secondary was playing bend don't break. We weren't aggressive. It was will garners first start and davante Parker was injured. Pressure Louisville to beat us with their wrs and their qb making progressions. They had guys open all day.
Oline was terrible. Play calling was terrible. Gus Edwards is the exact opposite of a short yardage back. Duke had no holes. Freshman played like a freshman who was handicapped. We have 5 WRs and an above average tight end that weren't utilized at all. I could write a Senior thesis on how bad we were after this game.
