Agreed. But he is the best we have this season, so I'm going to choose to stay positive and see one bad game for what it is.. we get to see his response on Saturday night.I'm not on a ledge ... just pointing out that TVD is a player and not a leader. Things start going downhill and he is one of the first to cave. Not an admirable quality in a starting QB.
We saw last season him over thinking and pressing get him hurt.. although a much better line..Dud will suffer a "reinjury" of the shoulder in the 1st 2 qtrs of UNC - bookit.
So let me get this straight, he's not the type of leader you'd personally like on the field so that means he's not any good?Wasn't sucking off TVD... was optimistic about him being able to manage this offense behind the revamped OL and better OC.
I am skeptical now to be honest. He just doesn't look to be mentally atuned to be a leader .. he looks disinterested and glum most of the time... no passion one way or other. On tough days like this, we need a leader.
You mean our HC who likes to OVER THINK everything? I played for a HC like this and he would outsmart himself a lot. ALways worried about things that don't matter instead of letting his players just go out there and play. It’s just funny to me that game 1 TVD looked very meh and we just dinked and dunked all night. Lots of time and prep before that game.
Next 3 games we’re driving the ball down field, TVD looks great, short weeks to prep, etc.
Get 1 week off and revert back to the short/intermediate BS and TVD looks incompetent. You can tell when there’s time to prepare.. a certain someone likes to get their hands in it. Just my 2 cents.
We’ll go back to slinging it all over the place against UNC and he’ll look great
Yep. Has the stench of last years offense all over it.You mean our HC who likes to OVER THINK everything? I played for a HC like this and he would outsmart himself a lot. ALways worried about things that don't matter instead of letting his players just go out there and play.
Every game is different with this guy. One day he will look like a heisman contender and the next he will look like Kirby Freeman. You can't win BIG with QBs like that. Tell him to hit the road after the season is over if there is a viable candidate in the portal.
Yo it’s not really audible in the video posted by the official Miami Hurricanes channel, but you can clearly hear in the one CaneSport posted that Susan asks if there was anything “bothering” Tyler at 4:50 mark in the video:I mentioned this in another thread, but since this thread is about TVD, I'll mention it again. During Mario's postgame press conference, he said that TVD was not injured but healthy, and he offered that unsolicited. No reporter asked him about TVD and his health after a poor game.
But here's my question: the last play of the game for Miami (after GT kicked the ball out of bounds), we got the ball on our own 43 yard line. TVD can't throw the ball 57 yards for a Hail Mary? Wouldn't a Hail Mary be a better percentage than a trick play?
When dude is hot, he's ****.I feel like, with that epically bad coaching blunder, the bigger issue went largely unnoticed by the media at-large and some even in our own fan base. I honestly don’t know what to think about TVD any more. It seems like he’s been here forever, and I want him to succeed, but I’m beginning to lose faith in him to be “HIM.” It seems like he’ll go through stretches where he looks absolutely amazing, and then when you least expect it, “WHAM!” He looks like hot garbage. I’m concerned when we play UNC, Clemson, and FSU we’re going to get the TVD we saw last night. Hopefully, Saturday night was just a one-off for this season, but, man, where are you guys at with TVD right now?

So he was answering her question and it wasn’t unsolicited
Ehh idk, i think Gtech just had weeks of film and put together a good gameplan. It’s just funny to me that game 1 TVD looked very meh and we just dinked and dunked all night. Lots of time and prep before that game.

TVD could def. throw the ball that far. I'm shocked they didn't but based on earlier decisions, it doesn't surprise me now.I mentioned this in another thread, but since this thread is about TVD, I'll mention it again. During Mario's postgame press conference, he said that TVD was not injured but healthy, and he offered that unsolicited. No reporter asked him about TVD and his health after a poor game.

I mean they had a game plan to stop the run. We struggled because it was a new DC doing new things. That’s obvious.Ehh idk, i think Gtech just had weeks of film and put together a good gameplan.
I was also concerned about the total lack of creativity on offense that's supposed to help our QB. TVD had a stinker but the game plan was extremely basic.
I mentioned to Cribby in the game day thread that this smelled like last year. It’ll be interesting to hear what Dawson has to say about it in his presser today because you know **** well the questions will arise.Yep. Has the stench of last years offense all over it.
Short/intermediate and very vanilla. Check with me. Miscommunications on option routes, whereas the staple of air-raid passing concepts is simplicity and repeatability.
Reeks of Mario Cristobal putting his hands in it for no reason trying to fix something that was never broken. Or trying to hide **** from UNC and Clemson thinking we could just walk through GT.
I was begging for the deep ball all night and the only 2 we threw were huge plays. It was there any time we wanted it and instead we played conservative.
That happens when you come out flat.Fine? Define "fine". He looked like he had been run over by a truck on Saturday .... dead eyes, no emotion, no spark, no LEADERSHIP. The polar opposite of a kid like Dorsey. TVD is a crap shoot every game. He better enjoy his college football days as football doesn't appear to be a long term career possibility.
He’s not a first round pick. End of story.I feel like, with that epically bad coaching blunder, the bigger issue went largely unnoticed by the media at-large and some even in our own fan base. Dawson won’t say anything to throw the HC under the bus. If Mario has a “never knee the football philosophy he told Dawson to adhere to when they got started together he isn’t going to say that during the press conference.I mentioned to Cribby in the game day thread that this smelled like last year. It’ll be interesting to hear what Dawson has to say about it in his presser today because you know **** well the questions will arise.
Passing offense didn't challenge the middle of the field. Most throws were to the boundary, specifically the boundary hash. Most of the night we seemed to cut the field into a third and play inside that. No deep crossers, no go routes, no slants, and nothing up the seams. it was a combo of comebacks and out routes. Wasn't anything like we have seen all season. Something was "off"I mean they had a game plan to stop the run. We struggled because it was a new DC doing new things. That’s obvious.
Didn’t rule out the deep ball was there all night and the opportunity to burn them in play action over the middle was there. We hit it both times we tried it. Never did it again and those big plays didn’t sway GTs plan at all. Should have kept doing it
