What the banner Flyers dont consider

I understand the sentiment. You want Golden gone -so do I .But publicly humiliating a coach isn't going to make him go away sooner. It will not make the administration let him go quicker. But what do you think any coach considering coming to Miami thinks when the fans unlike any other school in the country so publicly try to embarrass their team and their head coach. Its very possible we could have a smaller list of interested coaches because of this. But some people act without thinking. If you got fired from your job would you want someone flying a banner over town proclaiming it?
Its easy to be a part of the mob-it doesnt take any thought .How about toning it down for a while and see how the season plays out .Stop acting like a hoard of neanderthals.

Wow, really, is this Kelly Golden???

Butch gave the program new life after the "From National Champs To National Chumps Thanks Butch" banner flew in 1998. He built a team that took the championship in 2001, again in 2002 (robbed by a bad call), and should have fought for the championship in 2000 if the stupid BCS computer scores didn't put FSU in there to get embarrassed by Oklahoma.

If Al Golden can't even beat Cincinatti, he's obviously not the same caliber coach that Butch Davis is.

You are correct, if anyone thinks these do not affect the players and possible recruits they are CRAZY. I am so embarrassed that they fly these at every game. The players do notice. The results of the games will determine the outcome of coaching. STOP IT!!! you are hurting us for future seasons. If I am a player deciding where to go and no fan support at UM, I choose to go to FSU or UF. All the press shows at games are these stupid banners. GET A LIFE> let them play and support the team. These banner flyers obviously want us to lose and the BOYS feel it........If they need attention try something else you are doing this at the expense of players working hard and trying to give us the team we want. Use this money to move out of your Mom's basement and get a life

The banners got the attention of the media which use it as a barometer of UM fan support. The banners are working and he people flying them should be applauded or "repped" where available.

The funny thing about this is that while yes, it has gotten the attention of the media, nearly every single talking head who has voiced an opinion on the matter has lambasted UM fans for being "spoiled" or "classless" or the like. They've laughed at you guys for flying the banners while we were undefeated. They've mocked our poor fan support for years, and this is just another sign of that (eg, can't fill the stands, but will fly a banner). They've poked fun at the fact that you guys even go so far as to stack an online poll to make yourselves feel better about what you're doing.

The banner flyers are too dumb to notice that.

Fact is that the banners have zero effect on getting Golden out of here. You flew a banner last year, and still the BOT retained Golden. It was clear from the outset that this year was the deciding year. Ws and Ls are what make the decision, and Golden's going to hang himself by losing ****ty games like Cinci as well as another 3-4 games this season, at the very least. The banners aren't going to get him fired any sooner.

Really, how long do you want keep ignoring sub-standard coaching, if this is the quickest way to get these idiots out of here, then keep flying these banners and I will continue to donate ever week. They have ruin this program and its idiots like you that still have some hope for Dumb and Dumber. Wake up! I done support these idiots. Sometime you have to go backwards to go forward.

A)Again, you're making it seem like the banners will have the effect of getting rid of Golden. They don't. The only thing that is going to get rid of Golden is his W/L record this year.

B) 6 or 7 banners have been flown, over two consecutive seasons now. Don't you think if it banners were going to get him fired, he'd already be gone?

C) As I've already explained many, many times, I do not support Golden. I jumped off that bandwagon back in 2013.

UM hasn't shown they deeply care about winning in football. If fans don't push back hard I don't see the energy at UM to fire Golden this year. The banners show the fans are upset and the media takes notice and drives the narrative that the fans are angry. This narrative will get Golden fired. His win / loss record will contribute to it, but if he wins 7 games and the fans aren't calling the radio station and flying banners then I think he stays.

What a BS rationale.

Look, I've already explained why he didn't get fired last year. A) Donna didn't want to fire him as her last act as prez. B) Frenk didn;t want to fire him without going through 1 season to see for himself. C) The buyout drops significantly after this season.

For those reasons, it was predetermined that this was going to be the make-or-break year for Golden.

The banners aren't changing that.

Seriously...think about it. If (and everyone knows this ain't happening, but IF) Golden somehow gets on a roll and wins 10 games this season, wins the ACC champ game, etc...he ain't getting fired. Which means all your banners don't mean squat.

What everyone knows will happen is one of two scenarios. 1) Golden will lose another 3-4 games at a minimum, and he'll be fired at the end of the season. or 2) the team totally falls apart and we go on a bigtime losing streak, in which case Golden may be fired mid-season.

Either way, the banners don't mean ****.

No, the banners aren't going to get Golden directly fired. What you guys are missing from the message that the banners represent, at least to me anyways, is that the fans have come together to say that there is nothing Golden can do to redeem himself in our eyes. If Golden would have won every ******* game this season, we would still fly banners every ******* week because he has to go NO MATTER WHAT. That's why banners flew at 1-0, 2-0, 3-0, and the reason they will fly all season. That's what the media didn't understand. They couldn't fathom why we would fly banners on an undefeated coach. Cote kept *****ing and moaning about it. If the banners weren't flying, do you honestly think that there would be a fraction of the heat that Golden is getting now? No! Our 3-1 football coach is on the hottest seat in the country because we fans took a stand and turned up the heat. With each passing week, the press gets more positive to our cause. It was broadcast on high definition ESPN for crying out loud. Now that the ugly loss to Cincy happened, the fans who were hating on the banners are now lining up to donate. 790 The Ticket was asking for the web address on the air the other day.

The banners are galvanizing the fan base and are a part of the national discussion on Al Golden. Sitting at home and not attending games wouldn't have done a ******* thing. They forced the discussion in September rather than November. If you are too obtuse to see that, there is no help for you.

If Golden wins 10 games and wins the ACC champ I'm pretty sure he'll leave for another job where the fans don't hate him and constantly fly banners asking for him to be fired.

I'm not missing that at all. I get it--you think the banners empower fans and turn up the heat on the admin.

What you're missing is the that no matter how many banners you fly, the only thing that determines his future this year is his W/L record. Again, if (and we all know this won't happen, but I'm playing Devil's advocate) IF he somehow finds a way to win 10 games and win the ACC, all your banners will mean nothing..I can guarantee that the admin would still keep him around next year. That alone invalidates the power of the banners.

Of course, that won't happen. Golden will be fired...because he won't win 10 games. Not because of the banners.

It doesn't matter what you want. If he wins 10 games and the ACC champ, Frenk and the BOT are not going to fire him. Your banners don't mean ****e. The only thing that matters is his W/L record. You can waste your money flying banners all year long...if he ends up producing results this year, he ain't getting fired.

Again, if the banners mattered, don't you think he'd have been let go by now? Don't you think the BOT get the message that the fan base is dissatisfied and wants Golden out of here? Do you really think that flying 6 or 7 banners just didn't send the message clearly enough, that they really need to see another 8 or 10 more before they wake up and suddenly say "he, y'know, these banner flyers...they might be onto something...maybe we should fire Golden!"

The banners are galvanizing the fan base and are a part of the national discussion on Al Golden. Sitting at home and not attending games wouldn't have done a ******* thing. They forced the discussion in September rather than November. If you are too obtuse to see that, there is no help for you.

You still don't get it. Galvanizing the fan base and all that is an aside to the fact that we don't care how many wins and losses. We don't care if he wins the ACC, national championship, what the **** ever... We want him gone no matter what. There are zero scenarios in which we want Golden retained. He wins 10 games and they keep him for next year? Then we will keep flying banners until they get the message.

You still don't get it.

The banner makes a difference If he goes 9-4 or 8-5. If there is no noise being made by the fans then 8 or 9 could be sufficient for the administration to keep him around. If there is too much noise then only a 10 win season and a championship keeps him around. The banner in my opinion is to make sure mediocrity is not accepted.

Disagree. Similar process worked last year at Michigan.

Unfortunately, we don't have a billionaire booster like Stephen Ross to bring Jim Harbaugh in to coach, ...even at the expense of his own pro franchise.

If AG wins 10 or 9 or 8...or the Coastal or at FSU or the ACC. I'm guessing pigs will fly. Since I 'm pretty sure that won't happen - keep flying the freakin banners.
