What is going on in this forum?

Band aid over an amputation.

Either we need less articles, or articles to not take over the message board. Maybe create an articles subsection and pin it. Idk...in sure there is a solution where everyone wins.

Acaden lewis was not the only player to have multiple threads.

You are preaching to the choir here.

I have to work on a solution. The truth is that articles get more views. But I understand the concerns. I think it's more noticeable on the basketball board because there are less non-artlcle threads so the articles dominate.

I truly don't get who is specifically going out of their way to Click on the articles tab on this site and read them. I've literally never opened an article from the articles tab on this site before. Only time I read the article is when its in the Eye/Recruiting forum and it's like the bank...

But I suppose IF that's how you navigate this site, there really isn't much you can do because it makes sense to have new articles as new news breaks....

Ideally what could happen is comments would be off on the articles/ or all articles could have comments just lead back to a specific bigger thread already on that subject. Like maybe when writting the article you can choose a thread for the comments/discussion to take place in. Then on any single recruit/game you could always link the comments/discussion to that player/game thread. And then for bigger articles like The Bank you can keep doing it as it is where discussion/comments are in that articles as it serves as its own thread.... This would also signficantly make searching threads cleaner because there wouldn't be 20 threads on the same thing with barely any comments.... Idk if thats even possible though @Andrew @DMoney

They may get more views but they are redundant. 4 articles that say the same thing. They may get views because we are going there is see what this new information is to only find it’s all the same stuff from a different messanger.

IMO I’d think two changes would be nice. I think @Calinative had a good idea about articles linking back to long term discussion threads. Can even have them pinned at the top of said thread. But also I think some editorialization could be a good addition. Give us advanced statistics, some extra fat we can chew on.

Hoop Explorer is a good tool, and No Ceilings imo is the best basketball writing on the web as a guide. Just smth to think on.

Shocker……2 more articles posted this afternoon alone. This went from ok I’ll deal with it to annoying to ****ing people off in a matter of a few weeks.

Were they duplicative? I’m not asking rhetorically, what would be the best format for articles like those two?

No but is there a way to separate articles from created threads by other posters? I'm getting tired of seeing 87 articles a day on repetitive topics. And a lot of it is just reposting info from other bball reporters.

The articles are news reading basically. Finding a way for multiple articles to link back to one unified discussion (like as a selection for comments to be directed before posting an article like how you select a subject header thing) I think is solution.

Make an "articles" pinned folder in the basketball forum. They all drop in there and anyone can read them if so inclined. That way the rest of us can do our thing and discuss, fight, troll and tease each other in peace.

This idea makes sense.

Unless it's by Kam, he almost never posts a LIKE during the season for anyone else's posts in the many threads he starts. This post is an exception (he LIKEd it) by the Boss. Go Figure.
