What is going on in this forum?

Based on my experience here as a Maude for many years, I’m certain that you and Baby Bot aka @Trinton Breeze) aren’t getting a whole lot of direction, more like d$ drawing up plays in the sand and saying go long. 🤣

We (CIS) need to figure out a way to have articles which @DMoney says get the most views, while consolidating all threads on a player into one, linked to or under that article. I suspect that the article views aren’t as quality as the message board aspect as far as view time. I don’t think a new thread should be started on an individual player for every twist and turn. If it’s possible to sticky post articles at the top of an individual player threads, kind of like we can for each sub board, that would be a possibility I’d think but @Andrew would need to create that framework.

Regardless, thank you for your efforts and those of your cohort Baby Bot who seems to embrace the hate.

I'm just honored that D$ graced us with his presence on the lowly basketball board. We've made it to the big leagues, boys.

am I the only one that doesn't believe the articles get viewed the most by CIS members??? maybe nationwide viewers, but I doubt from this board...

First of all, don't blame @Trinton Breeze and @Kamdyn Burton. Blame me. They're just doing what I asked them to do. I'm very happy with them.

I agree the Acaden Lewis threads were an issue. Part of it was that Lewis had a bunch of threads from his HS recruitment, and we probably wrote too many articles anyway. I also spoke to Kamdyn about his duplicative tweet, which he'll learn from as a rookie.

But the reality is that the Basketball Board got more action over the past 12 months than any other 12-month period, including our Final 4 run. I just re-checked the numbers and it's true. The articles consistently get a lot of views. One thing I've learned over 15 years is that the interests of the hardcore and the quiet majority aren't always aligned. If I only listened to the hardcores, this brand would've never grown. But the hardcores are also the foundation of the brand's success, so I won't ignore you guys, either.

Here's my solution: I told Trinton and Kamdyn to only write hoops articles for legitimate breaking news (commitment, coach leaving, NBA draft declaration, etc). The rest can be threads and posts. If it's duplicative, a mod can merge it. This will keep the board moving while also avoiding this article issue. We can see how it goes and revisit this later.
