What if..

These things are not going to happen. That said, the 1994 Alcorn State season with Steve McNair is one of the great sports stories of my life. His performance and the road show of these fans from rural Mississippi packing the stands are things I'll never forget.

The problem is racism. I don't see how segregating people between HBCs and other colleges helps fix that problem.

Obviously I'm for them. First and foremost they were created because no White institution in America would accept a Black student, point blank. Some people may hear the acronym and think there may have been a time when non-Black students couldn't attend, and even the truly ignorant(not in the insulting way, but genuinely lacking knowledge) may think they can't up to the present day. That has never been the case. And I can guarantee you that the first White kid to attend an HBCU didn't need a National Guard escort to sign up for classes. When I attended there were many White and non-Black students there. When I was a freshman, which was during the last seasons we were in the 1-AA Playoff picture, our WR1 was Charlie Allen. Cool *** Whiteboy from Killian. I'd even go as far to say that there may have been as many as or more than the amount of Black kids at the Clown School for Girls(if you adjust the numbers to exclude athletic scholarship recipients, it ain't even close). They are esteemed institutions and pillars of Black America and have always been essential for the progress of our community. My alma mater sits in one of the rough areas of Tally(ironically, the other is across the North border of semenhole territory), the survival of that neighborhood is intrinsically linked to the success of FAMU. I'm certain that we're the #1 employer in the area, no doubt. Could you imagine the economic impact that would occur for the Southside if we could keep enough of our talent to supplant North Dakota St. as the FCS Big Dog, let alone enough to thrive on a G5 or P5 level???Throughout the years, the schoolhouse and its faculty has been an extension of home and family. I'm not saying that a Black kid can't have professors or administrators that genuinely care for them at a White university, not at all, but I'm willing to bet it won't be the same as at an HBCU. Given our unique history and collective condition as a people in this country, there is an extra vested interest in the success of every young man & woman who can gain entry. Just like I'll always agree with an academically gifted AA kid choosing to attend FAM, Howard, or Tuskegee over Harvard, Yale or Princeton, I'd definitely be all for one who's athletically gifted if he chooses Grambling over L$U or to be a BCU Wildcat instead of a ******' ****...
She’s an idiot, so that should tell you all you need to know about your idea.
You know nothing about nuance. To call her a idiot because you don't like something she said before to discredit everything she says after. I don't like Trump, I think he immoral narcissist, but I do agree him on America First, investing in America interests. What the F@ck????? Mind-blowing right?

Cliff's Notes: he is quiting football to focus on social justice.

Commendable following his passion.

The statement is to give blue blood schools in the racist south like, Kentucky, Duke, et al., the 🖕🏻. In addition, it would boast the bottom lines of HBCU, which educated generations and generations of African-Americans and produced amazing leaders in all fields.
So assuming everyone is racist and re segregating is the statement? Yeah, that'll fix things

I didn't need an example. I'm trying to understand your thought process on ending racism. You appear to think segregating is the answer and somehow this makes a statement. So, what statement does that make and how is it resolving racism?

Nobody stopped Tim Tebow from becoming a BCU Wildcat. I'm pretty sure no one in Greensboro would be upset if Sam Howell woke up tomorrow and decided to transfer to North Carolina A&T. If Miller Moss flipped from USC to Southern, the students and alumni would be ECSTATIC. Although history has said otherwise, integration can be a two-way street. Maybe we wouldn't be goin' through half of the **** we are as a country right now if it was in practice, not just in theory...

How is supporting ones community segragating? Nobody says anything Asian support Little Chinatown, or When Latin support Little Havana, or when whites want to love their gated community. But when black say they want to support things when help their community, that's a bridge to far.

Kids going to FAMU would help alot more than Kids going to FSU.

As far racism, we are only what? 60 years from the civil rights movement. That means Literally everyone has a member in their family that experience racism, participate in racism, or watch racism happen.

Only thing that will solve racism is education and time. The further we get away it, the better we can combat. My kids kids, this will be less of an issue

I don’t like anything she’s said ever, before, during and most likely I am guessing after.

Well, I think there's a big difference between say, little Italy and going to an all Italian college. College is learning about yourself and a taste of the world around you. The broader your horizons at the time the better of you'll probably be in the future. Living in a all black community is cool, but living in a all black community and going to a all black college isn't helping either side understand each other any better. College is a great time for learning about others and I don't think thats a time to separate. An yeah, no one should ever go to FSU.

I agree you college does broadens your horizons, but are saying they could not get that at a HCBU? Every that attends a HBCU is black. I am coming from economic angle. They influx of money would surrounding community, which are usually majority black.

Removing the racial component, I have made this same argument for UM football. If guys really want to help they community. They would stay home build UM into a juggernaut. Would help local and small business. Which would create more job opportunities. Gessepi Pizza could enough business they could open second location.

there could be an interesting shift if Bronny James decides to go to an HBCU... if he becomes elite.. that could be the paradigm shift... it would certainly be a legacy defining decision that would separate him from his fathers legacy to an extent.
Lebron transferred to a private school, transferred 3 times in the nba liking for the best situation, Ames his son to the most stacked team HS team in the country. Only way Bronny goes to a HBC is if they’re ranked top 5 nationally

"Community" based on what?

Sadly kids will keep going to the Plantations of the SEC where they can be Gladiators for the White masses.

...All black Star athletes transfer/sign with HBCUs? It would mean putting a cause ahead of your personal gain(IE: bagmen)

I doubt it would happen. But man if it did..

It would just end up like the old days when FAMU use to whoop up on D1 schools which is part of the reason why those redneck institutions started offering those guys, not that they cared about us, but only to gain an advantage. See bob hayes and guys like richard dent for examples!
