He interviewed before we hired Golden and if we had had him instead of Golden where would we be today. Supposedly when he interviewed both times he was thought as being brash. Maybe that is what we needed a ****y brash coach and it wouldn't hurt now to have some fire coming out of coach.

He would have been trash because he would've had Al Golden's salary.

HE has brought Florida back a lot quicker than I thought possible and had MSU competitive. He also had Manny before we signed him.

Why because at this present moment he is 6-1 and ranked 11th? He is halfway through his 1st season @UF. Plenty can and will happen between now and the moment he has 3.5 years in at said program.

It's a crap shoot for the most part and you lower your odds even more. When you're cheap or allow coaches to hire noobs.

Bump this thread again when UF is playing Bama in the sec ship. They’re going to get slaughtered but that is a great feat for Mullen’s first year. UF will expose Georgia next week.

He probably wouldn’t have been the long term answer but he would’ve done better than Golden.

I couldnt see him and his staff building strong enough relationships in south Florida to sustain success

He is a good coach, how good is to be determined. His potential is as high as it has ever been (same as it would've been here) with a better recruiting base and school to recruit for. What we demand as a fanbase is national championships and I'm not sure if he could deliver, but my guess is that he would've gotten us close had he been hired instead of Golden.

I don't know why this is brought up as this isn't an accomplishment. After Golden was fired, this team finished with a better record without any real HC (4-3 v. 4-2).

Some people on here are going to struggle with who to root for more next week.

The People Who Fired Richt v. The Gators

Some coaches are just better fits in particular cultures, etc. Right now Mullen is doing a nice job masking Franks major deficiencies. Let's see how he actually does building a top tier program and creating sustained success over time.

He will have to change his recruiting philosophy to compete for championships. As of now he just does enough to win 9-10 games. Definitely a better coach than Al Golden 😂 but probably equivalent to Richt.

Mullen isn't "****y" or "brash"—he's a nerd that tries to act like a tough guy on the sidelines and makes cartoonish faces that have him looking like a complete buffoon.

It's year one at Florida and he needed a miracle to escape Vanderbilt last week. Relax.

Either way, the guy isn't a Miami fit by any stretch; back at Gainesville where he coached under Meyer and was part of the Tebow legacy.

What's a Miami fit?

0 chance he beats Kirby. UGA has way to much talent even if it is young. Mullen is a great coach and would have been great here, but he can't beat a team that is as talented as UGA.
