What Else Does Manny Need to Do?

Start acting like a professional. Ditch the props. Stop the celebration tracking. Stop the dancing when we are getting mauled by a bad team. Stop crashing coaching clinics that you could probably learn something from.

Winning is the most important thing, and I don't see any of the extra crap contributing to wins. Focus on football, not trying to look clever.

in 17, the chain did provide life to a stadium at a few home games and team. it did help the atmosphere. it doesnt help when your QBs are blowing off practices and games bc they dont care

There is a long list of things he can and should do....too much for our soundbite CIS culture.
Plus everyone is currently high from the transfer portal success (exactly like last year)....
So if I had to pick one thing - I would say...drop the ego. This is an adult male not an 18 yr old...he can and should be able to assess and then apply what he has learned. Much harder to do or expect from an 18 yr old kid...meaning: Drop the ego, Manny....admit to YOURSELF where the mistakes were made specifically from a leadership standpoint..(you are the adult/they are the kids)...apply those lessons learned and adapt. Even good politicians (which I think he is) can apply knowledge gained and adapt.

Personally I wish he would leave but realistically upgrade the defensive staff, Get a DB and OL out of the portal, end the touchdown ring BS an finally win some fxcking games!

-Get rid of the TD rings.
-Change the culture surrounding the program.
-After you start winning, change the way you approach recruiting. Don't even let the players try on the uniform and do photoshoots and all that crap until they've actually signed/enrolled. (the key to this is you actually have to win)
-Promote getting hype and dancing on the sidelines, but ONLY when dominating (ie no halftime sideline danceoffs while being shutout by FIU)
-Continue to go after the players that are serious about wanting to be great.
-Come up with better game plans verses your opposition. Time and time again I have seen us come out completely unprepared for opponents. Not sure what the issue is there but it needs addressed. This also goes for coming out completely flat after BYE weeks. Makes absolutely no sense. Teams like Bama THRIVE coming off BYE weeks. AKA you don't want to give Saban any more time than he already has to prepare for you.
-And as Jay Rock said, WIN

What else do you all think Manny needs to do/bring in to earn everyone's stamp of approval. Obviously winning fixes all, but I'm curious as to what else he needs to do. I think he learned a lot in his first year and is making the necessary changes to build this program back. I think he's the kind of the coach that wouldn't bolt at other opportunities (NFL jobs) if he wins here like our other legendary coaches, which is why I want him to succeed.
One thing and one thing only and I think you already know what that is, so there’s really no point in this thread. Just win baby, just win! That’s it and that’s what it’s always been in this game. Either win or get the Fvck out of the way for someone who will.

I'd like to also add for him to stop rolling in Yachts for school events.. And quit the fake bravado BS

- Retire the TO chain and TD rings
- Bring in multiple grad transfers at OL
- Bring in a grad transfer WR
- Pray he made the right hire in Lashlee
- Fire Baker, Banda, Rumph, Patke
- At least relieve Patke from ST and bring in a real ST coach
- If he's not going to fire any of the above, completely dedicate himself to the defense. Do not hand the reigns over to Baker and leave him on his own. That leaves us essentially paying for 2 DC's when one would do the trick but baby steps will be our pace on the road to competency.
- Become more disciplined in his coaching to avoid the ridiculous inconsistencies we had throughout the season
- Decapitate Jarren Williams and all the other players who behave like him

He needs to show the fans that his loyalty to the program is greater than his loyalty to his inner circle of coaching buddies. Firing at least one of his underachieving coaching buddies would have been a good start. Hasn't done that yet so I'm still skeptical.

Win. It's that simple.

I would also like to add "not brag about our team prior to losing the game", but I think that would be covered by "Win".

Yeah, well what else does he need to do to win? ST are and have been a hot mess. Baker might have to go as well.

Go into the game undefeated and beat a mediocre Michigan State team in their place by a TD or more.
