What do you think of Mel Tucker as a HC candidate?

Of course he’s a corch

Barely hung on to an Indians team with the backup AB and beat up against some scrub teams
Exactly. The funny thing is also that I have a few friends from Chicago that went to MSU. They're Bears fans and still think he's a corch even as they try to be happy and delusional in the moment as Sparty fans.

What did your friends think of Saban after His failed DC stint with the Browns?

He's on the LSU short list for whatever that's worth...

He's too expensive. He'd be on his 3rd team in 4 years. He'd certainly be an upgrade at this point, but the ship sailed.

I like Tucker the guy, I don't get all the buzz surrounding him though. DC absolutely. Most good assistants don't have to wait 20 years for a head coaching gig, especially with his resume. That gives me major pause.

So anyone with some modest success we are considering now?

I’m not saying Mel Tucker is a bad coach, but both for him and us, no way it happens

15-20 years is the average wait for somebody to go from a GA to a HC.

And contrary to what you say, I'd say these "Boy Wonders" end up flaming out early in their careers, see Lane Kiffin.

We would be lucky to have him. Guy is a true competitor and doesn’t let anything get in his way. I believe in his story as much as any coaching journey out there.

He was the db coach of OSU in 02. 13 years later he was back as a db coach again. He has never stayed anywhere longer than a couple of years. We see this story play out all the time. Guy comes in with other coaches recruits, does well, then when his recruits are around they fall completely off the map. Dino Babers was hot too a couple of years ago. LOL

Can’t see him coming to Miami but I think how he turned around the MSU roster this past year could be our best option for the 2022 class. Hit the portal hard at OL, LB and CB and hope the playing time the young guys get this year plays off. And a competent head football coach of course.
