What are your real feelings for local players who used UM to reach their goals?

and that's because when you recruit a kid to your high school to play for a year you have absolutely no control over the kid

That's a fair point....somewhat. My counter to that is South Florida ain't by far the only place in the country now where top recruits jump around high schools from year to year. But The University of Miami IS the only big time program dealing with these games and often flat out disrespect from local kids.

My other point would be Tyrique's faux signing ceremony at Southridge. EVERY coach was there for their moment in the shine to talk about him and their beautiful and fatherly relationship with him.......but then when we call them out now it's not their fault that they barely knew the kid let alone could check the games he and his momma were obviously playing?

Of course they barely new the kid, he 'transfered' in for his senior year - yet they want to lay claim as if they made him.
They thought he was their ticket to a state title, South Dade proved them wrong.

Well, they aren’t using UCF yet instead of Miami.

So we got that going for us.

Which is good.

So I understand that everyone is ticked off about these kids and their decisions, but the question is, what can we as a fanbase/community do about it? I’m tired of these kids playing the home team with no ramifications. If they’re taking bags, how do we call them out? If they choose to “represent the 305” in the SEC, how do we make it clear that they, their families, and their handlers are no longer welcome in South Florida? If one kid from Tuscaloosa played Bama like these kids play Miami multiple times on an annual basis, there would be such a backlash to that kid that another kid in the community would never do it again.

I’m tired of the pats on the back when these kids make choices to go elsewhere. It’s time to stop respecting the decision and making these kids feel some heat. We need to come up with some tangible ideas because outside of one of us winning the powerball and dropping bags all over the community, nothing is going to change, and quite frankly, I’m tired of losing (as I know you all are).

Don't follow, message, or otherwise acknowledge them on social media. That's a start.

1. You consider a soft verbal worthless. As in, until they sign the paper they're not part of the program. Stop counting them as part of your numbers.

2. If you need say 2 DT's you recruit a minimum of 8. The first 2 to sign the papers gets in, the rest can **** off to redneck country.

3. Recruit the highly motivated 3* with the same energy as the 4*. Which means if a 3* is ready to commit and the 4* gives you a soft commit you take the 3*. I'd rather have a fully filled roster of motivated 3* players then some 4*'s yet holes in our depth chart.

4. Limit the visits. There is always drama in a locker room, even with championship teams. The issue is these locals see our laundry aired out they visit so much yet they don't see anything but the polish in places like Georgia and Bama when they finally go there.

5. Always keep room for 1-2 5* studs who will string along everyone, but don't count on them. At this moment we aren't in position to expect them. They are frosting, not the cake.

Holy smokes you said exactly everything I’ve been thinking since the early signing period. Thanks for getting it out to the masses.
