What are your real feelings for local players who used UM to reach their goals?

So, according to most of the responses in this thread … blame the kids, their families, their coaches, social media and their communities (that few CISers want any part of - aside from those communities athletes).

Summing up thread: Excuse making > personal responsibility

Just win! Go after the rite kids and not the big names. Get some local people to find out details on these kids so you don't waste time on kids.. Ive seen a kid with an offer from U.M wear nothing but Georgia football gear. Those are signs that these coaches is missing

Why would any competent person come to play for us having watched the 2018 season? Our O cost everyone on that side money.

At the same time the teams these kids spurn us for are playing for a title tonight, made the playoffs and or played for conference titles. It ain’t hard to figure out.

Why would any competent person go play for FSU and Taggart . They got blown out in **** every loss except against us

I'm from Cincy, Ohio and I grew up a Cane back when they used to from up here in the 80s and beat up on my uncle's & Urban Liars UC Bearcat teams. I feel for all Canes fans who sees that much talent leaving that area because it's a gold mine and all these oil owners are helping these teams pluck who they want out of that area. It's sad but a reality, what needs to happen is just go back to getting all diehard Canes that are hard working 2 and 3 stars build that back up like that 80s. Miami greats was never 5 star players they just were hardworking, aggressive muthas that didnt take sh** from know one. The players were coaches and held their teammates accountable that's the missing piece. We will be back sooner than later, mark my words! Go Canes!
Lol , like we thought Brownlee was ? Except he bounced too

First year coach. Look at Richt’s first full year class. And they had tons of misses too just less than ours.

Add to that they won a title in living memory and ran the ACC for most of these kids lives.

I don’t know what to tell Canes fans who think UF and FSU haven’t lapped us over the last 15 years.

Ok so what was Kirby selling then when they fired Richt and all of a sudden brought in the best classes in the history of recruiting . Georgia has not won a **** title since 1980 . Even Richt had top 10 classes annually , without winning a title or beating Saban. All of a sudden he comes here and forgets how to recruit ?

Bama had not won or sniffed the title since 1992 before hiring Saban. How was he able to just start recruiting so well without winning first ? Mf landed the #3 class after going 6-6. Why they ain’t have to win first ?

Lmao so a first year coach with a career losing record taking over a 7-6 team is more attractive than a 10-3 team with prime time blowout wins , a defense tops in the nation in sacks TFL and turnovers , and a game day appearance. Got it.

UF last won the title over 10 years ago now . Wasn’t that the excuse when we hired Golden, When did we go 4-7 or lose to GA SOUTHERN .

It’s all on the coaches...they must evaluate the prospects correctly & develop them once they hit campus....stop being soft with these high school coaches & players...you talk sh**about UM or diss us than funk you..stop inviting these dudes to games who ain’t coming..... stop inviting these teams to our camps if the coaches sh** on us..take your a** somewhere else not here...sofla is our base no doubt...but we must go national....we should be around 60/40..with 60% being sofla/state of Florida....we have had a lot of great ones from home..but just as many great ones from central Fla & national.....once we start winning 10 games a year consistently we will get just about who we want not all but most....also young kids today are to friendly...letting these dudes hangout on campus knowing **** well the ain’t coming....lol run they a** off campus..go chill in Athens or Tuscaloosa everyday.....hopefully Manny understands this & let it be know we will win with you or without ...stop sugar coating things & be real...& to all the local coaches hating a** dudes mad because one brother gets an opportunity & they didn’t...needs to be put on blast...it’s a lot hate in sofla...oh yea no more 7-6 seasons...

I don’t know what to tell either of you if you think UM is in the same conversation in terms of recent successes or more relevant in 2019 than UGA UF or FSU. UF is the weakest of that bunch and still played for 2 sec titles in the last five years and has 2 titles in the last 12.

How many ten win season have those programs had in the last ten years because we’ve had one and when we did we recruited well.

Richt recruited extremely well here prior to the wheels coming off on the field. It’s a results business and UM hasn’t produced in 15 years.

The path back is easy to say:

Win 10 games consistently - we have the talent and schedule to do this.

Do this and recruiting will sort itself out.

Cannot blame them for choosing the likes of Alabama and Georgia, but you do not need to play Miami or any other school in the process.
Be thankful and respectful that you have the God given talent to compete at such a level and do not waste the time/resources of a university
for your amusement, that time and resource wasted on you could have been applied to another athlete who actually wants to attend said
university.

That's what it should be used for . . . one way or the other. UM's job is to make it be for the right reason.

understand your point and agree that those teams have had more recent success as far as a title or chance at a title goes . But if you don’t see that Miami is held to a different standard than those schools by recruits then idk what to tell you . Don’t agree that FSU or UF should be held in higher esteem that Miami at THIS point in time. Mfs had all the jokes about VHS tapes this and that every time we talked about our 01 title , I don’t wanna hear about UF title 12 years ago . Neither of them have done sht without literally a once in a generation type talent at QB .
I think we’ve won enough in the past two years to not get disrespected , used , and have games played on us by recruits .

Richt recruited well in the beginning but let’s be real we got killed down the final stretch even then . Majority of those classes were secured early , basically struck out after that .

I guess we will just have to see what happens under Manny . We need an elite staff man. Or a game changer at QB

I've already said enough about the kids and families/"mentors" but one group that doesn't take nearrrrly enough heat are the high school corches in Dade that not only allow these kids to play these games but seemingly are onboard with it.
and that's because when you recruit a kid to your high school to play for a year you have absolutely no control over the kid
