What Are Your Expectations For 2024?

Define good ?

LT started and was our best option and perhaps that qualifies as good on our team but on a national level ,there were 23 DT taken in the draft ahead of him. The JETS are giving him a shot so the argument is still valid that he was "Good". I see no argument for any more praise than that.

-BTW, I am not in the group that expects the best-case scenario to play out. That dream has been shattered every year for the last 20 years. I know better. I will start the year with the usual hope for a good year and maybe this is the year the meltdown doesn't happen.
LT left so much talent on the table that he never took advantage of , this is what’s irritating these kids and there choices.

But LT is their now trying to learn everything he left behind , no doubt he’s having sleepless nights now just preparing for practice and skull drills in position meetings be drilled constantly on reads and playbook the size of War and Peace.

This team’s floor

No less than 10 wins. Period, tired of the excuses we have all the pieces barring injuries to beat every team on the schedule.
Most cases when you change HC you end up changing most of your staff to reflect new philosophy.
This takes 3 years to put into effect along with the type of players to fill the rolls on the field.

this team is almost complete with the players and coaches to be a serious threat to make a run . It’s so hard to be patient and it was I agree.

But we have arrived well armed and able to execute our game plan with this team this year and prepare for a NC run next year.

This year ACCCG and 1st championship

GOCANES

Nobody knows how this season will turn out.

How often is the preseason top 25 accurate? You are lucky if half the teams are still in the top 25 at year's end.

What is the outlook if Cam Ward gets hurt?

What if we have a rash of injuries?

We have the roster to legit say we can win 10+ games. Hope it works out this way!

But I am ready for anything from 5 wins to undefeated.
Rash of injuries isn't a "bug" or "accident" there's a method to keeping teams healthy. Now one player with one knee? That's life. 25 players with head shoulders knees and toes? That's Mario.

I expect to be better than last season. I expect our fans to be disappointed and solely blame the head coach. I expect to lose to a team we shouldn’t. I expect a preseason “soft opponent” to exceed all expectations and have a stellar season.

Anything less than 10-2 AND an ACC Championship is unacceptable. This is Mario's 3rd year, he has had unlimited resources, we have a fairly easy schedule (again), so time to win this year or it's never going to happen
This is Mario's 2019 all over again.
Loaded with talent, easy schedule (2 ranked opps in regular season), NFL quality QB

Does he have that "balls out" final 2 games like he coached in '19
Or the typical final 2 games where Utah takes him to the woodshed stuff?
He really let Herbert loose for those final two games, does he let Ward play ball earlier?

There's only one opp ranked higher than Miami (21st) on the SP+ preseason, FSU.
SP+ had the four best in preseason '23: UGA, OSU, Mich, Bama with Texas 9, FSU 12, and Wash 17.
SP+ 2024 top10 is: UGA, OSU, Oregon, Texas, Mich, Bama, PSU, Ole Miss, ND, LSU

LT was actually good last year he just didn’t pop off because he was playing out of position. But for a first time JT he held his own and our defense didn’t look the same without him.

The nfl evaluates more than just football tho, his issue is they don’t know if he actually loves the game. Im sure our coaches relayed that to scouts too(not saying its wrong)

Based on Mario's public comments he really seems sky high on Ward. Will he trust Dawson to turn the offense loose is what I wonder about, if our offense functions like it did vs TAMU hard not to see 10 W's.

We'll see how much stroke ol' Dawson has this year. He got more loose after TAMU, tight tight after GT. Then came alive again for L'ville

Yep exactly. It's hard to project what we'll get from a play calling sense. But we have more weapons than we've seen around these parts in a long time, no excuse to not be a very good offense, gotta get it done.

lots of 10-11 win predictions in here lol we do this every year like peeps haven’t been paying attention to the last 20 years..

7 wins 5 losses until proven orherwise
I’ve got us 8-4 reg season and lose our bowel game cuz we never win those ..as usual peeps overrating our talent. We’ve got one truly elite player in Bain, and several solid to good players but not enough high end talent to sniff the playoffs
