What are you expecting to see In Game 1?

-Personally I want To see Miami reestablish our brand on defense, we were absolutely horrible on defense after the Notre Dame game and to take the next level we can’t have that. Plus with all of the inexperienced players on offense for LSU there is no reason for Miami not to play well on that side of the ball for this game.

- I want malik rosier to show improvements from last year and display some chemistry with his receivers.

- Coach richt has talked about the oline coming together, want to see it. They were an above average unit for the most part but had inexplainable performances against pitt and unc and of course clemson. Oline usually takes a longer progression than other positions so with another year of experience under their belt they should be improved.

- Healthy Ahmmon Richards. We know what malik did without Richards in most games even in some of the games he played he didn’t finish them or play a lot due to the lingering injuries. I think Richards make our offense that much more dynamic and I want To see him go toe to toe with the top cb in college football

I'd like to see the following
1) O-line is at least average for both run and pass
2) Malik's completion percentage is 60ish %
3) Richt gets more creative on offense and does screens, motions, etc. (Not at all hard to do)
4) Diaz actually adjust on 3rd down and not just give the 8 yard completions over the middle of the field over and over again.
5) Don't want to see bad QBs look amazing every game
6) Richt get 2 unsportsmanlike penalties this year
 
I hate to beat the dead horse here, but this entire football season comes down to Malik Rosier's right arm. We can talk all we want about what we'd like to see, and there's certainly a lot to discuss there as there's a LOT of talented kids here now and certainly some questions we need answers to.

But this season will hinge on 12's arm, and not fully because of how he played last year. To me, it's more HOW TEAMS PLAYED HIM at the end of the year. Starting with really UVA, but then especially with Pitt and the last 2 games after that, the absolute clear gameplan from the defensive coordinators was telling Miami/Richt, you can't beat me with Malik Rosier throwing the football. They may as well have written it on a sign and held it up on the sidelines. Pitt had ELEVEN guys within 8 yards of the LOS on virtually every snap last year. If he's improved, Miami can really have a special season. All the other pieces are in place, and the schedule is a joke. If he's the same kid, we might get to Charlotte, but we have zero shot against Clemson, nor any of the other Top 5 or so teams in the country.

But in Game 1, I'm expecting to see how Miami defends the pass. Against Clemson and Wisconsin, Manny expected both those teams to use the run to set up the pass, but he was fooled in both games. Both teams shredded us through the air and exploited single man coverage all over the field. I expect LSU will do the same. It's what good coordinators do. I fully expect Burrow to throw the ball a lot more on early downs than the average observer thinks they will. How does Manny counter?

Also how does the OL hold up against what will be, at worst, the 2nd best front 7 we'll see in the regular season?

How ready is Brevin Jordan?

Really how good is Gerald Willis? Is he a replacement player, or is he a step up from 80 and 7 last year?

Are the backers truly elite? They're getting a lot of pub. They've played a ton of ball. Have they improved to the point where they're nationally elite players and Day 1-2 draft picks (Shaq and Pinck, especially)

Has Richt improved as a play-caller, specifically with his creativity, since last year? I want to see a lot more from the offensive creativity.
 
I want to see the offense clicking on ALL cylinders. The OL , pass protecting and creating big holes, the RBs running with authority, the WRs creating space for easy throws, and Rosier making those easy throws. TD's instead of field goals

For the defense, consistent 3 and outs. Numerous sacks, plenty of stops in the backfield, no big gains.

When asked to do so...Baxa on automatic, Feagles making long booming kicks.

A kickoff and punt return run back to the house.

In short, a total and complete wipeout

Offensive mastery from Rosier, 40-50 points, a trick play early, 3 deep at QB and the legend of Patchan.

I want to see the Oline establish itself with great push, discipline, and running lanes.
I want to see Rosier punish 8 and 9 man fronts with ball placement on target in the window for receivers to have a track meet to the endzone.
I want to see an attacking defense push up field, but maintain the edges with added lock down corner/safety play.

I want to see the Coaches adjust the game plan as needed, but keep your foot on the pedal and don't let up until there is NO time on the clock.
When the Team comes home, I want to see butts in the seats, and I want hear noise like its 1983 in the Orange Bowl!!!
 
Would love to see the punter be able to change field position in our favor, and not shank punts in close games.
 
1. No shanks from Feagles
2. Bubba hit every FG within 40 yards
3. Convert 80% of 3rd and < 3 on offense
4. I want to see Malik air it out deep when he has a receiver 1 on 1 (LSU will stack the box)
5. Control the line of scrimmage on the defensive side of the ball, make Burrows beat us with his arm
 
Richt's play calling against Aranda. should be a good chess game.

Richt can't come out simple (like first half of FSU)
 
I want to see how they adjust to what will be a different looking LSU team than we're used to seeing. I expect them to pass much more than they traditionally do and follow some of the strategies that worked against us last year. Does Diaz have what it takes to stop them?

The rest, pretty much already covered.

Make no mistake about it, this is a coaching battle. Athletically, the teams should be about equal. LSU is not only trying to find their next running back, but breaking in a new (albeit old, senior QB with little game experience) QB which is always tough. We lose this game, it will be squarely on Richt and companies shoulders.

Consistent running game on offense.

Get stops on third down on defense.

You won't hear that because Miami fans don't do that. Only SEC nerds cheer for conferences.
