Toure is basically having an experienced NFL player running the D. Between him and Chase Smith, they will provide senior leaderhip++ and will steer us far into the playoffs and potentially a natty this year.
Hasn't played consecutive seasons since 2020-2021 and 2020 was only 9 games in the covid year with him being a RS freshman.
In each 4 game stretch of the season the average rushes against us was always around 29-31 per game and he trended like this:
Games 1-4: 18 tackles - 4.5 per game - 38 snaps per game
Games 5-8: 22 tackles - 5.5 per game - 48.5 snaps per game
Games 9-12: 14 tackles - 3.5 per game - snaps dropped to 33 per game as we were blowing teams out
Games 13-16: 30 tackles - 7.5 per game - snaps up to 49 per game in this stretch
I would guess we have some larger margins in the regular season next year. He averaged about 42 snaps per game in 2025. I would guess he plays around the 40-45 mark again while rotating with Smith to stay fresh and considering we should be beating teams fairly easily with our schedule.
He got a tackle on about 12.5% of snaps he played. Very good LBers are in the 15-20% range. If he progresses to that level - he would be in the 75-100 total tackles range in the regular season. I hope we blitz him more to make up for the loss of Scott as a blitzer. Toure was very good at it at Rutgers but didn't do it a lot here in 2025.
75 regular season tackles - 4+ sacks and another year away from the injury maybe a little bit more fluidity and reliability in coverage.
ALL-ACC 2nd team.... good amount of sacks.. hopefully be most consistent tackler.. no sliding off or bouncing off fools... thump/wrap/floor... sets tone early in every game with a hard hit...
