What about James Coley as new head coach?

I don't hear too many people praising Coley for the job that he has done with the offense. It looks like GaTech will win the Coastal, so why not fire Al Golden and Coach D now, and let Coley be the interim. He's our ace recruiter, he and Kaaya have quickly developed a bond, and I think he has the "swag" that will allow the kids to play free and have fun for the rest of the season. I wouldn't count him out as being the next head coach either. What do you guys think if he cleans house on the defensive side of things?

Interim coach would be fine with me but hiring him as our next head coach would be an absolute disaster

No issue with him as an interim head coach, but our next coach needs to be a proven winner.

Sorry, but ***** no! He is a terrible OC. Now, I see why he didn't call plays at fsu. He knew we needed to score often @ GT. He saw what GT was doing. Yet, the offense only produced 3 second half points.

So, no to Coley.

This. Hiring him would be the equivalent of hiring Randy Shannon all over again.

If we hire a coordinator to their first gig, they had better be from one of the best programs in America and have a **** of a track record, neither of which Coley has.

If were hypothetically going down this path of hiring a current staffer to interim HC then give me Brennan Carroll. At the very least he has been around someone his whole life who is ruthless and knows what it takes to win big. And I'm sure poppa Pete would help him with anything he wanted, and BC wouldn't be stupid enough not to accept the help. He's in no way qualified to be a head coach for any amount of time, but neither is Coley.

It'd obviously be a less than desirable move and the OP is gonna get blasted for suggesting it but it'd actually be an upgrade going into next season. It'd mean an instant change on defense, the recruiting class pretty much holds and Coley may bring in an OC a little more seasoned at playcalling that could improve the implementation of his offense. Like I said, a wayyyy less than desirable move (I'm fine with him as interim) but there are worse moves that could be made too.

LOL. The next coach is going to be a current coach at a big 5 school, or someone who has been that. James resportedy is a big fan of the way the program was run during the last stretch of greatness and he knows all those guys very well. So IMO, our next coach could come from that mix of guys, Davis, Chud, Stoops, and Schiano. Stoops has to be at the top of the list IMO. Please lord let it happen this year. **** you Penn State, why are you so smart.

The reason James Coley continues to improve is because he has Ice Harris tied to his hip. Remember Ice Coached Coley. You can see each week our offense improves. But as our offense improves we get worse on defense.

Our players are developing on offense.

Lulz. The offense has gone from bad to historically bad (worst 3rd down conversion rate in FBS, averaging less than 400 ypg, averaged 500 ypg thru 6 games in 2013), while the defense has gone from historically bad to really bad (trending up!!!). You're delusional.

No friggin way. The only good thing he has done is finding Kaaya. He need to be gone right behind Al and crew. We need a new head coach now not more bubble screens. Coley is in love with HIS plays just like Al is in love with HIS defense. I want coaches in love with what WORKS!

Again on the road our offense jumps out to a 14 to 7 lead just to have the opposing team grind the clock out. You will never put up huge numbers if you never have the ball.

The reason the offense has had moments of decent play is because we have a generational talent at QB and a superstar RB

We had the same number of possessions as GT. Duke and Yearby averaging over 7 yds per carry, but Coley running double reverses and chucking the ball on 2nd down. And, wtf does the crappy defense have to do with converting 22% on third down??? That's the worst in the country! Show us some numbers to support your position that the offense is getting better each week, and the defense is getting worse. Prove it, or STFU. I can prove that the offense is worse and the defense is better (which is comical).
