What’s going on in NC

This is the problem with this fanbase...

They can't recognize that Mack Brown is a legitimately good coach. I wouldn't argue if someone said he was a GREAT head coach.

In his first stint, he had UNC as a Top 10 school in the country before bouncing to Texas and winning a national championship and having five Top 5 finishes over his career.

Another problem with this fanbase...they think that UNC is some ****hole that should be bad in football when the reality is, there are so many resources at the University and they are a University that is willing to truly invest in winning as long as they have a good coach. They gave Butch support up there. They have given Mack Brown support up there twice.. Larry Fedora won 11 games there when they didn't support the program. UNC has the potential to be a good program, so idk why we need to ask why they all of a sudden get a few good recruits...they get good recruits more often than not. Mack pulling some SEC types? Well, looks more like back to business for UNC.

This will fly right over most of the posters heads on this site.

This is the same fanbase that laughed at Mack, Stoopes, etc while pining for Botch through the years.

Correct. The ncaaa has put the fear of Jesus in this POS admin. We have a serious case of no balls in our admin (literally and figuratively).
We need Tommy Moffett back in this program like yesterday. He needs to be the AD coming in with nuts dragging and **** swinging. It’s fckng pathetic already.
“The pride and tradition of The University Miami Hurricanes will not be entrusted to the timid and weak”.
Unfortunately the timid and the weak are the ones calling the shots.

This is it. Period.

Are you guys unfamiliar with UNC's Basketball program & how they recruit?

You think it's any different for Football... (Rhetorical question, because it's not)

It's real simple, RECRUITING IS A BUSINESS, IN ORDER TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS YOU HAVE TO INVEST $$$.

And as the saying goes, Scared money don't make none... You either get with the program & spend the money necessary in order to compete, or you get left standing around looking stupid wondering why you can't get high level recruits to sign with your school.
I wonder if Julius Peppers got 2 bags?? One for Football and one for Basketball.

I wonder when we are gonna invest...SMH

Mack hired Tim Brewster from FSU for a reason... Brewster plays the game very well.

add to it UNC is king in their state. Nc state is seen as an after thought. This is the recruiting bump year...Manny didnt get the bump or isnt really seen as that as he was a part of the old regime. Add to it...he flat out aint a good recruiter. Never has been. UNC's staff is filled with recruiters. I swear our best recruiters on our staff arent even in coaching positions.

Mack getting that first year bump. Crazy Diaz has zero momentum right now in his bump year. Shannon, Golden, Richt all got the bump but non recruiting Diaz is getting his *** handed to him on trail.

Look at his staff compared to ours....it's a joke:

-Brewster: loud mouth shade ball but he can recruit. Bag man but a better recruiter and more experience with tight ends than Field.
-Jay Bateman: Compared to Baker it's a joke. Talent wise on defense we have a lot more than they do. Their qb last year is their MLB. He was great at Army last year and has them playing well this year given their talent.
-Tommy Thigpen (co-dc/lb coach): tons of experience (SEC) and good recruiter. Compared to Patke/Baker at lb it's a joke
-Longo: loads of productive and actual offensive calling experience at Ole Miss and did very well in small schools. Actually only like him a little more than Enos
-Galloway (wrs): sustained success coaching wrs at Louisville, West Virginia, Wake Forest, etc. Much better than Stubblefield.
-Scott Boone (outside lb/special teams): primarily at small schools but coached special teams five years and was candidate for fcs coordinator of the year when he was dc at William and Mary. Blows Patke away
-Robert Gillespie (rb) great recruiter. Better recruiter than anyone on our staff. Not even close between he and Hickson.
-Tim Cross (dl): loads of NFL guys under him and was dl coach at Syracuse, Minnesota, and Air Force as well as strength coach at Texas. Would take over Stroud
-Dre Bly (cb)- Their one alumni/face coach with almost no experience (see Rumph). Unlike Rumph actually did not suck in the NFL and probably has a personality
-Searles: **** that guy. Race to the bottom between he and Barry.

He’s shown more in 5 games than any other coach since he left the first time. Guy has a winning pedigree. If I’m a parent in Carolina I’m considering him as well. Think the Howell Qb made the right decision with them versus FSU. Made I wish our administration took our football program seriously.

Kids and their parents/handlers are not as stupid as our coaches think they are. They are willing to play for this staff. There was no reason to lose to UNC and to play like they did in these last four games. #newAD

Some of our fans are like our administration, always focused on the wrong thing, they paying bags, no they just bringing in quality coaches who can get their players to the league. #tnm

Exactly.

UNC went in on the Butch Davis tenure, until time to throw him under the bus in favor of holy basketball, and now they are going to try and make Mack successful....booster reinvigoration, though probably brief there.

Unlike us, they have some desire to compete somehow with Clem$on.
