We're gonna get a chance to scout UAB

You can tell that a lot of y’all only watch top 25 type teams play. This notion that we are too good to need to scout our opponents is ignorant. UAB is definitely better than FIU and at minimum, on par with LA Tech. They have some good players and are well coached.

If we come out ready to play, we will be fine(I got us winning by 17-24 ish)but we can’t approach this like they are Wagner. We saw last year what can happen when we come out lackluster and disinterested. I don’t expect that to be the case this season but there’s nothing wrong with wanting to be as prepared as possible for your opponents. There are a lot of good players/teams in the G5, there’s a reason why there are upsets **** near weekly every season.
You’re changing the argument. Yes we need to gameplan every opponent. That was never the discussion. The discussion was us being lucky to have a UAB game from this season to scout.

I watch as much college football as anyone and caught two UAB games last year—FAU and App. Those 2 wiped their asses with UAB with far less material than we have.

We should absolutely stomp any team that doesn’t have any players we even recruited.

What’s so hard to understand about this?

Sure, if we don’t prepare, and take this team very lightly, and just go through the motions they can beat us. Of course they can.

But this wiping our brows and being relieved because we are going to have some game film, it smells of cuckism to me. This isn’t Clemson, or even UNC or VagTech, etc - teams that have a legit chance to beat us - this is a team that we should beat handily with basic preparation, effort, and coaching, considering the talent disparity.

UAB vs FAU:

Final Score: 49-6 FAU; FAU gained 585yds total offense (299yds passing, 286yds rushing), forced 2INT's & 3 sacks on Defense.

UAB vs App St:

Final Score: 31-17 App St; App St gained 411yds total offense (269yds rushing & 142yds passing), forced 3 TO's (2 Fumbles & 1NT) & had 7.5 sacks.

UAB vs Tenn:

Finals score: 30-7 Tenn; Tennessee gained 302yds total offense (181yds passing & 121yds rushing), forced 4 TO's (3INT's & 1 fumble) & 3 sacks.

UAB's QB Tyler Johnston III was a 59% passer who threw 17TD's & 15INT's, their best playmaker is WR Austin Watkins from Ft. Myers (Sammie Watkins cousin) he's a big body WR that they use to stretch the field, they don't really have any speed demons that will be too difficult to cover.

Their Defense is legit, they had a top 10 Defense in multiple categories last year, they have 2 good physical corners in Brontae Harris & Dy'jonn Turner, although Harris sat out all of 2019 with a lisfranc injury, they also have a good EDGE rusher in Jordan Smith, he's a big 6'7 250lbs DE that plays similar to Jason Strowbridge at UNC.

They're a well coached team on the Defensive side of the ball, but offensively have an inaccurate turnover prone QB, below average OL & weak run game.

We should be able to handle them without much stress due to our pass rush, just play Double High Safeties & force their inaccurate QB to beat us with his arm while bringing immense pressure upfront & we'll cause at least 2-4 turnovers & let out Offense work.

Can’t wait to get knee deep in their ***. Manny better have the boyz READY!

We definitely should win but this is no cupcake game. They won 28 games in the past three years under Clark and have a ton of SRs returning on the 2020 roster. Clear favorite to win their conference and will have a game under their belt when we play.

They would probably be a middle of the pack ACC team this year.
Guys Stop it! Lashlee has the assassin mentality! We roll this team by 21 at least!

Thank goodness. Otherwise they might sneak up on us and smash us

UAB is pretty solid but my main concern is them getting out of the game with Covid cases. Miami needs this game before hitting the conference schedule.

positive is that the team they are playing has had zero cases after their first game and have been quarantine in Birmingham since Tuesday. UAB are providing them the hotel and testing needed for this game to be played.

UAB seems to be on top of their stuff in that regard.

First 3 plays on Offense & UCA moved the ball pretty easily & got all the way down to UAB's 30yd line, but then the drive stalled.

220lb RB Spencer Brown seems to be their main weapon. TE pretty athletic just scored 7-0 they still don't look good enough...we better blow them out!
