We're gonna get a chance to scout UAB

I've been driving the "give Manny a 2nd year before judging him" train, but if UAB is even within 2 TDs of Miami at the end of the game, Diaz should get fired immediately and the keys handed to Lashlee.

If we lose to UAB he has to go. Immediately. Take his keys before he leaves the stadium and call him an Uber.

Lol at the “fire Diaz” crowd beating a rotting horse before the season has even started. Nothing short of a disaster on par with last year will cause that and I’m expecting a very good season. Prepare to be disappointed.

Central Arkansas is actually a pretty good offensive program, even though they're FCS.

They beat Western Kentucky last year & they have a really good QB in Breylin Smith.

Some good offensive coaches have come out of that Central Ark program, including Mike Norvell.

The Southland conference in general has some legit high octane offenses & good QB play. UAB should win easily but Southland conference teams air it out all over the field & force you to prepare & not sleep on them.
This guy always has the info on every team. Power 5, G5, FCS, my cousins’ kids’ pee wee league. Doesn’t matter, El’s got some info for you. Love it man.

The fact this is even a discussion is pathetic. If UAB’s Offense has any success with our Defense then Baker not even get on that bus.

Its a really good pick for a 1st game. Miami SHOULD win by 4 TDs. Even if not hitting on all cylinders, then a 2 TD win. But they are good enough to make Miami sweat a bit and get solid film to prep for Louisville.

UAB vs FAU:

Final Score: 49-6 FAU; FAU gained 585yds total offense (299yds passing, 286yds rushing), forced 2INT's & 3 sacks on Defense.

UAB vs App St:

Final Score: 31-17 App St; App St gained 411yds total offense (269yds rushing & 142yds passing), forced 3 TO's (2 Fumbles & 1NT) & had 7.5 sacks.

UAB vs Tenn:

Finals score: 30-7 Tenn; Tennessee gained 302yds total offense (181yds passing & 121yds rushing), forced 4 TO's (3INT's & 1 fumble) & 3 sacks.

UAB's QB Tyler Johnston III was a 59% passer who threw 17TD's & 15INT's, their best playmaker is WR Austin Watkins from Ft. Myers (Sammie Watkins cousin) he's a big body WR that they use to stretch the field, they don't really have any speed demons that will be too difficult to cover.

Their Defense is legit, they had a top 10 Defense in multiple categories last year, they have 2 good physical corners in Brontae Harris & Dy'jonn Turner, although Harris sat out all of 2019 with a lisfranc injury, they also have a good EDGE rusher in Jordan Smith, he's a big 6'7 250lbs DE that plays similar to Jason Strowbridge at UNC.

They're a well coached team on the Defensive side of the ball, but offensively have an inaccurate turnover prone QB, below average OL & weak run game.

We should be able to handle them without much stress due to our pass rush, just play Double High Safeties & force their inaccurate QB to beat us with his arm while bringing immense pressure upfront & we'll cause at least 2-4 turnovers & let out Offense work.

For the past 2 years I’ve been waiting for any freaking game we get to go into the depth chart by the 3rd quarter to see what we got coming.
If we go full chipmunk Michigan with the starters into the 4th it’s gonna Be sht show in here.

We will dispose of UAB without issue or incident. Should be @35-10 ish type score, backups play most of the second half as we remain pretty vanilla to keep things easy for us and tougher on Week #2 opponent

Give them the minimum, at best.

We should. Then again, what was it we were going to do to CMU last year? This year better be drastically different. I believe in Lashlee and King 100%. However, I am still concerned with the overall mindset of the team. They were soft as baby **** last year. Maybe with a few big wins they can put last year in the past. My biggest concern is how they will respond if a team like UAB comes in and punches them in the face. Will they respond, or will they roll over and quit like they did so many times last year. Will they fight back, or will they work on their dance moves?

Seems to me Manny wanted them to ACT like the Canes of old, but had no clue how to get them to PLAY like the Canes of old. That's why he couldn't win with time to prepare, while his opponents did. If he fixes that, we'll be in for a heck of a great ride. If he doesn't, nothing will save him.
