I don't know if we have a savior on campus. But I know we have three guys way more talented than Rosier.

And I bet at least a couple of them will turn out to be better players than him. My beef is that we didn't properly assess what we had in Rosier. If we did, we would have fast-tracked their development and gotten them reps with the 1s. Or brought in a grad transfer.

It doesn't make much sense to me that they overestimated Rosier- there was plenty of data on him. I think they just weren't able to get any of the others to a point where they were clearly better than Rosier. I think we're seeing a failure of coaching ability not of assessment.

IMO, Jarren is the only one I want to see. 3 games left in the season that's all I care about, give the kid his reps for next year. If we are starting anyone but him next year it will be a **** show unless we get a great grad transfer but I doubt that very much. This kid looks like he has the goods, give him the reps. Why doesn't anyone ask Richt why isn't playing the kid. Recruits need to see we have a competent QB too before they walk out on us. What the **** is up with Richt? 4 million a year and in the best recruiting area in the world, wrap your head around this........

I just don't get what you're basing that on. Everyone said that Perry was obviously better than Rosier until he wasn't, now it's Williams is clearly better.

Again, I'm not saying he isn't or won't be better, I just don't get where people's confidence is coming from.

I'm not saying hes better, just saying he's the only one I want to see. He's supposed to be the future, I think it's obvious that he has a higher ceiling than any of the other 3. This season is shot, so let him get his reps now so he'll be that much ahead of next year.

Let's be honest, do you really want to open next year with Perry? Weldon couldn't even beat out Perry for #2 spot early on. What I'm saying at this point is, Williams might be the only quality QB we've got and we won't know until he plays, let's ride with him. He might get beat up a little bit but other freshmen QB's start, give him a chance. If Williams isn't our guy we are in big trouble.

Not necessarily, his Senior year he was 3,135yds 19TD's & 11INT's with a 61.2%cmp.
Perry's Senior year he was 1,778yds 24TD's & 4INT's with a 64.6%cmp.

Weldon was hurt his Junior year & didn't play, but Perry was 2,307yds with 32TD's & 2INT's with a 57.4%cmp.
Weldon played his Sophomore year at another school (Berkley Prep), he was 2,103yds 20TD's & 9INT's with 66.5%cmp. Perry didn't start as a Sophomore but played in 4 games.

All in all, in 2 years as a starter Weldon threw for 5,244yds 39TD's & 20INT's, while Perry threw for 5,127yds 64TD's & 13INT's total. Neither one of them were all that great in HS against fairly wecomp even by Florida standards.

The myth of Weldon was built simply because he did well in scout team last year, but in Fall camp this year also had a scrimmage where he threw 5INT's. What does that mean? Not much imo, but the point is Weldon has rarely if ever had much more than a 2nd or 3rd team reps & people talking up his arm as if he's some special secret weapon are setting themselves up for disappointment.

He's played in 1 game his entire career, thrown a grand total of 3 passes & had a nice run vs D2 school in Sav St. Any declarations of what Weldon is just wishful thinking due to how awful both Malik & Perry have been. He's a better runner than both of them, but we have no idea whatsoever what he would be as a starting QB going against ACC talent.

Not to mention, Rix Offense doesn't accentuate a QB's strengths & considering he rarely ever plays his insuffencies would be even more exposed in this system, not hidden. Unless we just switched to a QB option Offense, he would look just as bad as every other QB has looked in this Offense, not better.

Oh & if you look at Perry as a knucklehead for his off the field immaturity, then what would you label Weldon currently serving his 2nd suspension for off the field issues?
A blockhead.

Other than the part where you point out Weldon not beating out Perry but somehow give Williams a pass on that score, I'm with you.

I think we play these kids and see what we have. My only point has been that we have no reason to think any of these kids will amount to anything. They all failed to beat out Rosier. That doesn't mean they can't be great in the future, it just means none of them have distinguished themselves.

It’s interesting he only gets suspended for his multiple fluck ups while others got tossed from the team for seemingly less

I dont know what he did so its hard to speculate. Coaches at any level have favoritism. Imagine if Kosi fumbled twice like Deejay he would be in a juco by now lol

Couple other variables worth mentioning.

The Coaches may have thought Kaaya was going to stay thru 2017. Then when Rosier won 10 games they probably thought that he would be serviceable enough to hold down the fort until they could get the kid's ready.

To me, the O line play is the real culprit here. The lack of running game this year has been the difference between Rosier looking nominally below average to looking really poor.

Again, CW is a bum. A bum!

Absolutely. If williams comes in and shows he's "got it", then that can change everything. Recruits are watching; more so the moves the staff makes then the actual outcome of the game.
