Weldon gets to go “animal house” but other players get dismissed

The team has put up with multiple suspensions from Weldon and Gerald Willis, yet were still willing to work it out with them. Richt is willing to put up with issues if you're still committed to the team. Neither of them quit on their team like Thomas did, who already had to be convinced to come back once over the summer.

It's not about Richt, it's about Thomas.

@Stefan Adams its unreal how blind some people are. They want to see what ever makes mark richt look the worst and they don’t care they are siding with someone who quit on the team.

If a F-bomb to the coaching staff was said we should all stand by JT and support him. This is how we feel every week seeing this crap. He have the balls to say it. The way it should be. **** yes man players!!!

Multiple levels of ignorance and hate in your post above.

Not only do I agree, but I took a look at both the UM student athlete handbook and NCAA guidelines and his coddling of Cade could be Richt's undoing. Weldon's 4 game suspension (after last year's 1 game suspension) means Cade is a repeat offender. If it was for weed, his 1 game suspension would've been his SECOND failed test. Any other drugs and its one game.

But 4 games doesn't fit the UM guidelines for suspensions. Meaning he's failed more than 2 tests. Once someone fails 3 tests a lot of things are supposed to happen. Stuff like community service, contacting family, rehab and possible DISMISSAL FROM THE PROGRAM. NCAA guidelines say if a school has a drug testing policy its rules MUST BE enforced.

Idk if he is protecting Cade or not. No clue. But sweeping multiple failed tests under the rug is a big deal.

Maybe he's gone after the season and that's why we went after Kelly Bryant. If he's gone, we'll only have 2 scholarship QB's on the roster.

You reported facts that completely contradict your whole point. Sweeping under the rug would mean no suspension and maybe running some laps Bobby Bowden style. Suspending a kid 4 games is hardly sweeping under the rug. And he was suspended during a critical juncture that he possibly could have contended for the starting job. Some of you cats just lack common sense. It’s one thing to hate Richt. But when you hate bring some facts that actually support that argument rather then contradict it.

You implied that by cussing out the coaches dismissal would be justified. Weldon broke rules, multiple times. If Richt has any integrity, he’d dismiss Weldon.

Im not going to debate people's antiRicht hatred. JT4 was rightfully suspended for the first few series at Va Tech and he chose to take his ball and go home. This is on him and no one else. Other kids have gotten suspended this year (Perry, Weldon, Pinkney, Willis?) and no one else tried to double down on their own misdeeds. Hence, they are all now in good graces and JT4 is now further away from both his education and pro career.

think bout it w perry -- he got suspended, benched, and now hes being praised as being in the drivers seat for the job next year. willis had to take a personal year after being suspended multiple times and hes now going to have a long NFL career. Pinck owed up to his mistake and hes been a pretty stellar teammate from what we've seen. Weldons an idiot but he didnt quit on his teammates.

Whatever brother. We’ll agree to disagree.

You cant be openly insubordinate to coaches in front of the whole team. Actions have consequences. No one is perfect, and when these young kids make mistakes they are given second chances. Going off on the coaches is not a mistake. To try and compare Cade Weldon's issues to this is retarded. It shows that hes extremely immature for smoking weed and ****ing hot. Richt did the same thing in college so you know he doesn't care.

What I want to know is:
1. What caused JT4 to go off? (Was he loafing in practice / something effort related, or was it him being rightfully upset at utilization)

2. What did he say? (If he called them out for running the worst offense in CFB history then great, or if just didnt like being punished for being lazy / unfocused)

Either way, it shows JT4 is immature, regardless of what hes been through. The problem to me is that the UM coaches cant work together and find a way to motivate him and help him through his struggles. Good coaches find ways to reach their players and inspire them to win.

Thats BS though kids arent all built the same. U gotta know how to manage it all. Weldon’s @ss should be gone. That fake nice guy act Richt is putting on wearing thin.

100% on point.

Although I grant Weldon some latitude. You never really know when it comes to addiction. We're still in the infancy of this subject as a society. But your point is well taken.

Thomas deserves a second chance. So we leave a man behind because he had a bad day or week? How is that being a “father figure”? We don’t know what’s happening in JTs life to set him off. Could be something personal and serious. Instead, we banish him like he’s trash.

As much as I hate how kids transfer and quit all the time, I tend to agree with this statement, in this situation. Kid has a daughter and is going back to a place where he might not make it out of. They don’t need to let him walk away just like that
