Don't flip about the OL comments. There was a lot of talk that many school wanted Austin Sefarian Jenkins at Tackle. He signed with Washington and will be drafted as a tight end this year. Big or not, if he can play, he'll play tight end

Holy **** at the overreactions to what Lake said.

All he said was he's seen as a blocking TE who MAY grow into an OL in the future.

I was just about to say the same thing Killa..he just said the dude has potential to grow into a OL NOT he was one. Dude is top 20 in the nation at TE. I bet you Bama's coaches were recruiting him for the same position, considering they've offered Clarington (as a pass-catching TE) as well. Their All-American TE also will be in his 3rd year as a starter so depending on his year he may leave so they need depth just like us.

In every article I read on this kid even one were ND has him as their 1B option at TE, has him at TE. Also I can see from his tape that he can rush the passer a bit but lets all be frank here we have enough pass rushers (never enough pass rushers in actuality) where he most likely wont crack the rotation at that particular position so he's not playing that side of the ball for us either..TE all the way but if he gets to 260-270 after an off season here (EE) of course he could grow into a Jason Fox type player for us..look at the blocks he lays on kids, flat out disrespectful
 
What is it, about Archibald, that indicates for anyone to think he has the potential to become an offensive tackle?

UM has probably had the most interesting names in college football history:

Barry ***** -- RB mid '60's (yes, that WAS his name)
Golden Ruel -- OL in the early '70's out of Gables, later OL coach for USC under Carroll and now asst OL coach for Seahawks. His God-given name is Golden Pat Ruel. Golden is apparently a surname for one of his ancestors so his father, I think, and Pat, were named Golden Pat Ruel. I used to get a kick out of it when our roster had a starter named Golden Ruel.

At Harvard, it is just as likely that you'll see a ******, Indian or Chinese surname among the student body. It's no longer the school just of the preppy WASPs.

It sounds like we're recruiting the old Mainline of Philadelphia....white Presbyterians and mainly Episcopalians.

This the **** I dont like. Please let us not waste another athletic talent like this on offense bull$hittin around in our NO TE USING offense. You guys make me laugh getting all excited about putting this kid at TE. NO! Let Njuku play TE. **** we dont use the TE that much anyway. Let this kid play OLB or DE and wreck havoc. We can NEVER have enough athletic guys on defense. He goes to TE and we wont hear from him for about 3 years from now. Ask Jake O'Donnell. JMO.

And let's beef up Njoku so that he is no longer a budding track star and no longer a 7 foot HS high jumper with 4.5 (or better) speed. Want that guy chipping on LBs, and sealing on DE's, not jumping to the sky as a big WR.

His frame (looks as though he can add 20lbs+ easily) plus he's a helluva blocker with a mean streak according to his film..

He'd have to gain 60 to play OL. TE's are supposed to be good at blocking.

Y'all remember Golden said we needed to get a true TE this season to go along with a hybrid TE. This kid fits that mold perfectly to be honest. He looks like he could be more than just a blocking TE.

He doesn't necessarily have to be 300+ to play LT or RT in college. Not saying he cant or wont do it considering he's only a Jr in HS. He can easily be 250 going into his Sr year, that would only make him 30 lbs away from getting reps at tackle and yes the traditional TE position were good blockers but with all the field being used in this spread formation day n age the in-line TE has become a lost art. We do play a ton of 2-TE sets but judging from our QB recruiting this cycle we also will be moving closer towards the spread offense (prospects such as Wimbush, T.Gibson, Tiano, Francios all DT-QBs).

Personally I think he will be a tackle for us because of his blocking expertise at such a young age and because of his frame. Regardless I'll let it be known I am very happy with the verbal and I hope he sticks so we can point to another kid we stole from those SEC boys
