Week 1 Depth Chart

Nobody in Canes history ever got trucked harder than Brandon Merriweather vs West Virginia. He ended up become one of our all time big hitters and was a feared man in the NFL.
Yep, and **** Sean Taylor got flattened by Greg Jones but that didn't stop him either.

It's like being crossed in basketball, you square up enough times with someone with the talent and it's gonna happen.

It’s just the only play that I can remember that wasn’t an illegal hit. Can you think of anymore? I’m not against the kid. I’ve stated that I have already accepted that he will play but for all this physicality he has, no one can tell me of the big time legal none defenseless player hits he has either. That’s ok, just get the guy down, but I don’t view him as some big time thumper either cause I haven’t seen it. That’s just me 🤷🏾‍♂️.
Ok maybe I shouldnt have used Bernard Pollards name in vain. Is he that type of physical? No. But ill say this, if hes starting at Striker against Bama..it aint because they trust him to all of a sudden become this pass defending maniac at Striker who is going to shut Billingsley down cold. (I trust Gil with that job).

We will see in time. This is the type of game that alot of our players (especially AC, McCloud, Ivey and GHall) who have gotten killed by our fanbase over the years can erase it all with one game and start with a clean slate if they perform well enough to either beat Bama or make this such a competitive game that our fanbase gladly takes the moral victory. (I.E. Darrell Langham and his catch to beat FSU in 2017 and all past sins were forgiven in an instant)

Jennings played 380 snaps last year. That was the 11th highest number on the defense. Who should those snaps have gone to?
I would have gave them to Flagg, Austin cave easily. Both are better and we’re better as freshman. Jennings is absolute dog **** as a linebacker it’s embarrassing

Y’all never seem to amaze me… you guys complain about Manny not having enough comp, then he does and some people rise to the top and win those battles and y’all still complaining lol

Curious, what's up with TAC, Brooks and Huff; injuries?

Brooks yes, likely out game 1 with the **** toe injury

TAC-came on strong in camp, then got hurt in camp which set him back. He will def play snaps this year and I think he participated in last practice so he should be good to go.

Huff- no injuries to be noted aside from the fact he is still pretty thin and apparently is still missing assignments.

Injuries are a part of the game. Cannot play scared out there.
He is a veteran player and the moment should not be too big for him.
From all indications he was the best during camp so he deserves to return punts.
Excited to see him...:hair-fire:

Manny will make the right call. Just like playing Jennings all year. He always makes the best decisions

Very similar situations. There were a number of qualified replacements readily available and he just refused. And COVID played no factor at all.

Anyone asking about Carter over gil obviously hasn't been reading the board. Supposedly this was the most quiet position battle all camp, but one of the most competitive. Supposedly Carter looks really good at striker.
and he was just flagged 15 for targeting.
