Wednesday, 9/7 Media: Mario Cristobal, Jake Garcia, Andy Borregales, Jalen Rivers

Oh yeah; and u’ll see me agreeing. There was an original offer thread, as well, where myself @nycane @Dwinstitles among a handful of others were not in love.

I questioned Flagg, Holley, Dykstra (and got killed on Dykstra, lol). I also semi ?’d Garcia, only b/c of his LB Poly stint, & Narbonne. But I stated him going to GA playing at Grayson & that dedication may have been for the best both competition & maturity wise.

Flagg is more of a G5 product, lower tier P5 player.
Thanks for remembering my good sir

Flagg will make plays that nobody else can because he sees things developing faster than most of the guys at his position. He’ll also get beat at times because he just lacks twitch / athletic ability of the others. That’s where the staff has to identify is it worth putting him out there. He‘s basically a coach out there, he knows everyone’s assignment. There’s plenty of pros to go with the cons.
Facts! And to be honest… he has the speed of a coach, too. Totally agree with your post, @Cribby

Why can’t he get paid to coach the better players up and just sit on the bench and call out the plays for the defense instead of being on the field missing wide open blitzes on the qb and getting mauled by guards because he’s to small to run through **** or shake they fat ***

No, dude, its:

Boy gonna be what 4 year starter here? With covid I dont even know how long these guys can stay so maybe 5-6 year starter at LB for Miami.. Home of Dan Morgan, Ray Lewis, Armstead, Vilma, etc. sigh

On another, totally separate note;

I sure hope we get back to normalcy from that Covid yr & these “Super Seniors”. Can we get back to 3 - 4 yrs & done? No more than 5 & done w/ a RS yr. Throwing off the whole rotation.

The concept of playing the back up Qb for a couple of early series against a scrub team?

It really isn't.

It literally happens every season. All the time.
To me that would signal the coaching staff is more interested in next season than this season. TVD needs as many live game reps as possible to get comfortable with Gattis. JG will get his reps this season, but I want TVD comfortable and ready when we roll into College Station.

I couldn’t agree more… the whole Mike Harley broke Reggie Wayne’s receiving record thing annoyed me. And it’s not a Harley issue/his fault but let’s not pretend he didn’t get a whole *** extra year. There should be an asterisk in the books on that.

One thing for certain is Flagg is a student of the game so until another LB proves he understands Steele’s scheme, we’ll continue to see Flagg.
I still say this is the most arbitrary comment that cannot be quantified by almost all viewers of a game, but we can see that a guy is too slow to stop a back or WR sweep. What good is it to know the scheme if you don't have the speed to execute it?

Markeith flying down hill and making a tackle on the ball carrier was a thing of beauty. I was like “ who the f is that “? He didn’t hesitate at all, he went and attacked. 31 also stuckt out some.
I noticed Rodgers and Balom showing speed too. Mario bringing in faster kids with a willingness to tackle. Wonder how long before we see the younger talent filter onto the field.

For me, it’s the only reasonable explanation as to why Flagg is still MLB 1. Charlie Strong is our LB coach. I think he knows what a good MLB looks like. Time will tell if another steps up and secures the MLB 1 spot.

And more than half of those were screens for a yard

It’s the only reason I can think of as well but he’s limited with speed to the point that I hope they can get Blissainthe up to a level that they can put him in there - and soon - and take the lumps to get him going.

Steede at MLB and Chase at strong LB.

Just Saying Bernie Sanders GIF by Saturday Night Live
Until proven otherwise, Chase is starting to turn into a CIS hype player. I didnt see anything from him on Saturday that leads me to say he deserves more PT that whats hes getting.

Agree 100%...Ive been screaming this since the summer multiple times... All this 6th year Sr stuff needs to be considered a privelage and not a right anymore at least in our program. We got way too many 6th year guys who could potentially be hanging around (especially next year) that do nothing to help the team and taking away reps and PT from younger guys. If your not a legit starter or "first man off bench" type guy as a 6th year Sr..then we should just sign off on grad transfer papers and tell them to look elsewhere come February. If your not helping us win this season in a legit capacity as a 5th year Sr, than there is no reason for you to be "rewarded" a 6th year. JMO.

Y’all were far too critical of Shaw quarterman when he played here, I wish we had a linebacker be a playmaker like he was…. Tired of not having a play maker at linebacker. Flagg needs to go. We need to try steed at mlb, he plays faster and make more plays

Balom would start or play major minutes most years but this group is talented. Tae better clean some things up with how talented that room is
