We need a new PR immediately!

Of course. It usually comes down to something as simple as hand placement. The angle that you hold your hand or how high, how low. Tiki Barber for instance used to hold the ball just off of his waist early in his career with the Giants.Tom coughlin taught him to bring it up to his chest level. In one off season he went from fumble prone to some of the best ball security in the league.
Here's hoping that Robby gets it fixed and we get to see explosive plays as a result.

Robbie Washington is the most explosive player on the entire team with the ball in his hands. But his ball security isn't a given. I'd be tempted to try NY Carr also
I have been wondering this, robby was electric in highschool. Im surprised he hasn’t got looks as like a rb or just a gadget player. Hopefully the db thing works out for him

I'm just happy were not fumbling returns. Knock on wood.
My wife is a buckeye so I watch a lot of their games. They have Innis back returning kicks. He's slow AF and barely ever makes anything happen on them... but he always catches the ball. I imagine that is why Ray Ray is back there instead of other options.

I think we were all hoping he'd be an explosive playmaker returning punts as opposed to the guy who fields the punt and straight lines for a few yards. He's clearly been playing it conservatively, at times even in fielding punts to save yardage, and whether that's a coaching emphasis, his personality, or a lack of experience I don't know. Have to say I've been somewhat disappointed. However, Cam's perfectly capable of putting up points, so I understand if it's emphasized to at all costs not fumble away a possession.

It doesnt matter if they slap a #35 tear away jersey on them.. You can put Hester back there and he not doing anything in that jersey.. Show me a player in cfb history who housed a punt in tear away #35 jersey :ibis-roflmao-sm3:
Bro, I've been saying this to all the boys. They're jinxing the returner in a tear away 35. It's never gonna work. Football Gods won't allow it.

He hasn't been terrible but last night the one chance he got at a big return he tripped on his own feet. He's still young so I wouldn't just give up on him but he had a huge opportunity in a close game to make a play. As long as he is catching the ball unlike some others who have muffed multiple punts I saw stick with him and hopefully he breaks one soon.
That receiver from Alabama is young, I don’t see him trippin.🚶🏾➡️

Ray Ray has looked terrible as our PR all season. Do we go with CJ on both PR and KR or who else can we put back there that may be more effective? Carr, Trader, any other ideas? I’d def have CJ as both the PR/KR if it was up to me!
Robbie Washington is the best and most naturally gifted returner on the team. Don’t know why he hasn’t gotten a shot at it. Kid is electric with the ball in his hands.

Innis did muff that one against Marshall but Marshall had some goofy penalty bail him out

IIRC the reports this summer he was working as a punt returner so I think they’ve been trying to do it

He’s the real deal as a return man. I wonder if he was having a problem catching punts in practice. He has the combo of wiggle, speed and vision that is needed to be a dangerous returner. Would love to see him get a shot at some point in the near future.

Yeah I noticed some comments over the summer that seemed like they’re thinking what us fans were thinking. I remember them working in Ny and Robby (pretty sure)

These coaches all mention trust in pretty much every interview so yeah guessing they don’t fully trust him to catch it consistently yet

But just a guess on my part

Thanks for letting me know! I wasn’t aware that the coaches had given him and Carr some work at punt return during the summer.

I know for a fact that his problem definitely isn’t related to ability. It has to be ball security, because no one on our team is as electric with the ball in his hands, he just hasn’t had the chance to show it yet.

I really hope that he and Bobby stick it out and don’t transfer. They are both special talents, and if given a chance I believe that they will both shine.

With cam Ward and the way this offense has moved the ball, we just need someone that can catch and not make bad decisions.

Ray Ray has avg 9 a return. He has been fine
