We need a new PR immediately!

I'm not actually sure what Ray Ray has shown in any aspect of the game that would cause people to think he is good enough to play for us if we are wanting to be a consistent playoff team. Not hating on the kid, but just giving an opinion. He is not anywhere near as good as the 4 WRs we play, and he is not a true freshman claiming he needs practice time or weight room work.

He barely plays. This is just a weird thing to claim about a player who sees 5 snaps a game outside of ST.

He's a dynamic athlete and he'll be a good college player when he gets a real chance.

That last return, the kick was a line drive, he had awesome blocking, and he just fell down. That honestly had a really good chance to be housed. Turf monster got him pretty good.

Yeah, overall, he’s been a full non-factor since he’s gotten here. I know, I know. He’s learning the position. Great. He falls down in the open field and can’t catch. Good thing we don’t need him to be great yet, but someone has to play X’s role next year. So far, he ain’t it.
Don't know if I fault him. The field has sucked all season.

Ray Ray has looked terrible as our PR all season. Do we go with CJ on both PR and KR or who else can we put back there that may be more effective? Carr, Trader, any other ideas? I’d def have CJ as both the PR/KR if it was up to me!
I agree with Ray Ray. But CJ hasn't been setting the world on fire either. It's time to give Robbie a shot. His hands are the concern I'd imagine & we value ball security over a return

I just don't see that explosive athlete that scares people when he catches the ball.

We need to stop conceding STs - should be looking to score points in all three phases.
Robbie Washington is the most explosive player on the entire team with the ball in his hands. But his ball security isn't a given. I'd be tempted to try NY Carr also

I might get beaten up for this but I think someone like Lyle would be better for punts… ray ray ain’t it imo…. CJ is fast in a straight line so I think it can work for kick offs if he hits it right… but I think he lacks the wiggle/ make a guy miss that someone like Hester had. Punt returns to me are way more of making 2 guys miss rather than just a burner

Exactly. He barely plays for a reason. Again, not hating on the guy but sports have pretty simple, obvious truths that stare us in the face.
When X leaves, Ray Ray will be in a dog fight for the starting position which shouldn't be the case. But I am also speaking from info from within the program that he doesn't wow the staff with his play in practice. He is not terrible, but not at a level we need if we want to compete to win the conference and be a playoff team.

I don’t like how he stands so close to the ball while it’s bouncing when he’s decided he isn’t going to return/catch it. I’d like to see someone else try it too

Who are other candidates to compete with RayRay for X’s spot next year? Depending on who QB is and how the offense evolves, that is becoming one of the most important spots to fill next year. Such a security blanket with X right now.

Probably a freshman or 2nd year player or portal guy.

Can a player improve their ball security so it's not seen as a liability anymore and if so how does one go about doing that?
Of course. It usually comes down to something as simple as hand placement. The angle that you hold your hand or how high, how low. Tiki Barber for instance used to hold the ball just off of his waist early in his career with the Giants.Tom coughlin taught him to bring it up to his chest level. In one off season he went from fumble prone to some of the best ball security in the league.
