We need a dude at running back

Because I’m not arguing with over reaction generalizations. This fanbase takes a bad performance and equate to that player never being a special player. It’s like players or true freshman can’t improve. “He has no vision” “he’s not special”.

He’s had big moments. He’s ran for 100 yards and carried us. Had game winning TD. He’s still young.

Is a Heisman all acc RB. No, not as a freshman. But to dismiss this kid and say he doesn’t strike any fear in an opponent is epitome of how ridiculous our fanbase is.

Getting a whole thread saying this kid isn’t it. As a true freshman, is something else. Shows me people just type **** on this website to make themselves think they are smart.

That's what I was looking for. That's good productive discussion. So what if someone says he doesn't strike fear or isn't special? It's just an opinion man and we are here to discuss those. It's not personal. Sometimes I think people(myself included) lose sight of the fact that this is a football message board. Somebody's negative opinion of a player here isn't going to affect their draft status or credit score.

Because it’s the over dramatic reactions to players and often times degrading of players. It’s not just Fletcher. It’s every player we do this too. There’s multiple threads for Fletcher. It’s not just message boards, it’s Twitter.

Does it impact their draft status or credit score, no. But it’s naive to think recruits and players don’t see these message boards and Twitter. It is a terrible look.

I’m just not sure how this thread is needed or productive after this game. If we want to say we need we another speed back to compliment him because he doesn’t have home run speed that is fine. To dismiss the kid after todays game is a bit absurd

Freelancer? No wonder he never plays. Mario can't have these backs trying to take these up the middle dives and break them to the outside. No Sir!

Solid back but not a game breaker. Citizen was supposed to be that guy, but injuries have killed us for what seems forever. Let's hope Riley sticks and we add Lyle

I understand you man. I do but these kids aren't made of glass. They are tough kids. Besides it isn't just this fanbase. It's everywhere if you look. You should have read the FSU boards a couple years ago. Even the Bama boards were criticizing players. It comes with the territory. As long as it doesn't get personal then I'm ok with it. Anyways Im just talking here man. Not trying to pick on you. It's all good. Go Canes!

I hear you. My closest friends are Ohio state, Tennessee, and Michigan fans and ask them if they get this stuff on their boards and the don’t. Maybe I’m just overly annoyed by it. I love this board and some of the open discussions and news. It just is tough to come on here and see “**** this coach” “this player is jag” “can’t wait for this player to leave” all day every day. Especially when those tones change game to game.

It feels like there aren’t canes fans here and just people that like to complain.

Thats an understatement, Benson is one of faster players in country.. he has posted fast times in pads multiple times.. Mario didnt want him here..

kid was injured half the year. imo he will be good. there's a reason Ohio State wanted him.

Yeah I know we're all just beaten down but I always look forward to your insightful and humorous commentary and analysis. It's honestly the best thing about this board after a loss but I get it bro. We are stuck! Long live the Bro Style!
