lol championships? lets just focus on the coastal seriously. this isn't the old canes teams. we aren't remotely close to a championship level team.

Why are you apologizing for the staff? It's hypocritical to say give Manny a pass for losing to a better-than-expected Michigan State, then say we should just focus on winning the Coastal. The Spartans turned their program around in 1 year. We're in year 6 of his defense and year 3 of his leadership.

I'm not saying beat Alabama (though @GoCanes!! who liked your post is the 15-0 guy who believed we could beat them). But we should have been winning the ACC this year with Clemson so down. That's still only a Top 8-15 type level of play. Why shouldn't we be that good by now?

Granted the roster gaps are on Manny but the reality is there are major roster gaps on D. We lost super talented DEs and have the worst group of DEs we have had in 10 years, we have basic DTs and questionable CBs and 2 of our starting LBs wouldn't start for any other P5 team in the country. The best player on our D is likely a 4 star freshman.

Most guys on this site completely ignored our attrition and our obvious weaknesses so they are disappointed but almost anyone who predicts this stuff that didn't have orange and green glasses on predicted we would be exactly (or within a game) of where we are at this point in the season.

You should have stopped at "the roster gaps are on Manny". That's all that needs to be said. And no one who was worried going into the year ignored the attrition and obvious weaknesses. We were screaming from the rooftops about LB and DE recruiting 3 years ago, 2 years ago and last year. We totally lucked out with Phillips, Roche and even DJ this season. .We haven't developed **** (though Harvey is finally looking serviceable).

And while you can excuse some of the injuries at LB, Manny was the dumbass that kept signing hybrid DEs that didn't translate and over the offseason refused to bring in a transfer because he personally vouched for the guys we had.

All of this is on Manny, all of it. So yes, we have a right to be upset we're losing.
