We can only hope this happens

I like this post. If not for the statistical insight, at least for the unbridled optimism. Richt has a great reputation at developing QB's, and Rosier's story isn't finished yet. But I tend to think that CMR staying with Malik is more a product of it being the best he has for now than confidence in his QB. And that's just my opinion.

Expect Rosier to get the start in the first few games, and expecting both Perry and Williams to get significant snaps in games 2-4. Both will likely be hot on his tail until Rosier slips up and one of the two (smart money seems to be Williams) takes his job. Question will be if he can keep it.

On the flip side, how amazing would it be for Rosier, with all of us hating on him, to step up and have a great season, win the ACC, get us into the CFP or at least win a major bowl? Maybe we should all be hating on him a little less and rooting for him a little more.

I'm not to sure about the Richt OC comment. At FSU they were lights out offensively. At UGA they were pretty meh I guess. My concern is can we actually be a great offense with him at OC in this era of football and so far it been a no but I've given him time to recruit OL since that was the biggest problem when he came in. This year is no excuses from me. He had time to recruit/find O-linemen and it's the QB second year in the system.

Brad Scott was the OC but Richt was QB coach.
 
Let's be fair to Rosier. None of us wanted him to or thought he would start at Miami. This includes myself, the staff and Richt. Rosier EARNED the starting job last season and led the team to an ACC Coastal title, beat FSU and ND. He wasn't consistent during games, but he found a way to win when it mattered most throughout the season, until Pitt. Again, the staff and fans don't want him to be the starter. He has spent the entire season getting stronger and smarter. Everyone can see the physical difference in the kid and he has been praised for knowing this system inside and out by the coaches. In college football, a great game manager that minimizes mistakes is gold. I am thrilled that we have a returning starter at quarterback, that has proven on the field, that he can win games in the clutch. He will be better and hopefully his added size and knowledge lends itself to a more consistent quarterback on the field. He should improve in passing completion percentage and have a few less turnovers. I'm excited if he's better, because the team around him should be better too. logic dictates he's not going to win a Heisman or be an All American. However, it also dictates he should be improved and more durable. It's time to give him the credit he's earned and support our quarterback. One last thing, Rosier isn't and will never be Charlie Ward. However, Kelly and Vinny were absolutely the most "talented" QB's ever to throw a football at Miami and I'll take Kosar's and Dorsey's game/season managing memories to my grave over those two. Rosier doesn't have to be anyone but the best version of himself, to make this season legendary.

I pointed out in another thread how Brock was terrible in his (first year as starter) junior year and came back with a strong senior season.

IIRC Ward improved once they put him in the shotgun and kept him there, kinda like Brock Berlin would have had we kept him in the shotgun, but I digress...
 
Sometimes the best answer is the simple answer.

I expect Rosier to improve for the plain and simple fact Qbs generally get better their second year as stater when key weapons come back from the previous season and very good recruits come in the next year.

He will be one year wiser, one more year with experience in the big games, one more year in the strength and conditioning program etc.

Whether people want to admit it or not Rosier did develop a rapport with many of his returning WRs, and I expect the offense around him to be more diverse and less predictable in 2018. This will be predicated on what I think has the potential to be a better OL, a deeper stable of RBs, TEs/Fbs that can give opposition match up problems, and one of the best WR corps in the Nation.

Yeah ok... I guess you've looked the numbers up. Not a Richt coached team but a richt coordinated offense. For whatever reason QBs struggle with accuracy. Maybe it's the route combination. Doesn't mean richt has a bad offense just maybe the passing game is stale.

If Rosier turns it around like C Ward under Richt....I PROMISE you, I won’t complain about ish again. I will be the biggest sunshine pumper on this board....

Who am I foolin; no the f>ck I won’t. Lol. If Rosier turns it around, I’ll be his biggest supporter, though and I’ll crown Richt. It’ll just give me hope that when either Perry or Williams officially take over, we’ll win multiple titles, imo.
 
People blowing smoke up his butt because he beat Florida State great. It was a down year and we should have blew out them in many other teams and threw in the backups. F the optimism what will be the excuse after this season or will people just concentrate on next man up. Rosary should have stayed with baseball.

Down year? They have an average recruiting ranking in the top 5 in the last 4 years. None of them said it was a down year for Miami with they beat us consistently when we had al golden
 
I'm just saying without Francois we should have beat them by at least 14. I totally get what you or saying though.

What does Francois have to do with playing a top 25 defense on the road in a rivalry game we hadn’t won in 8 years?

If he isn’t good enough to finish the season, then he shouldn’t be starting the season either.
