Richt loses every game of significance, even going back to Georgia. He couldn’t even win the SEC East with a dumpster Fire Florida and Tennessee.

Richt's teams won two Southeastern Conference (SEC) championships (2002 and 2005), six SEC Eastern Division titles (2002, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2011 and 2012), and nine bowl games. His teams represented the SEC in three BCS bowl appearances with a record of 2–1, and finished in the top ten of the final AP Poll seven times (2002–2005, 2007, 2012, 2014). His 2008 team also finished in the top ten of the coaches poll.

All of those things sounds great when you havent had it in a while. But after 15 years of THESE stats you kinda get tired of it.........Top 10 recruiting class basically every year. Top 5 recruiting class very often. Nfl starters and first round picks galore. Ranked 1 or 2 a hand full of times. Hopes gotten up 12 of 15 years, Hopes dashed 12 of 15 years. 75% loss rate against ranked teams, not nary a championship game sniffed.

When Richt left GA he left us with no starting caliber receivers. No kicker, No punter, no special teams coach and a defense that had stars abound but had a hard time winning games. Kirby comes in and changes the culture in year 1. Gets a walk on kicker and even though we had a top 5 over all quarter back he has since recruited 2 more top 5 quarter backs and oh yeah..........he coached up kids that richt couldnt do anything with and put them in the playoffs in year 2 with a true freshmen qb. Richt couldnt get us there with a number 1 overall draft pick qb into the nfl who had the number 12 nfl overall draft pick running back with 4 other players that went into the nfl the same year. Another 10 and 3 year.

If 2 acc championships in 15 years is the goal........then you got the Richt man for the job lol.

Brainwashed fool. Richt was conviently fired when he has the consensus #1 recruting class locked up with difference makers. The kids were so sold that they didn’t waver even after a coaching change. Kirby is credited that as his “first class”. Kirby has upgraded their defense and committed to running the ball more but this notion that he was handed a program that in a rebuild is trash. Kirby is a good Head Coach so far but there is a reason he turned down countless other jobs and was believed to be super selective with the job selection.

UGA fans are literally the worst.

They live to see Richt fail at Miami, because if he wins at Miami then it proves they are 2nd tier program at best(which we know they are).

The man has the highest winning percentage at that pathetic program.

He raised the expectations by winning big when he got there.

UGA history until he got there was a 3 year run when they had the best player in America in Walker.

Other than that they are just average.

Miami isn’t UGA we have won 5 NCs since UGA has won one.

Miami is coming off probation with 73 scholarship players.

We lost our 3 best offensive players.

2017 Miami is least talented squad Miami should field next 4 years.

Even UGA fans are too ignorant to realize had a playoff been in place in year 2 of Richt there, he would have gotten them to the playoff just like Kirby.


Richt was 35-33 vs. ranked teams at UGA.

The biggest difference in Richt and kirby is kirby will openly encourage the bag game on the trail.

if chub didnt break his leg in the UT game richt would have won 10 games. they handcuffed him there. also lets be fair. the guy is open about the fact we dont have the most talented team right now.

So much truth. This is exactly why I hope OU beats them in the Rose bowl. One of the most annoying fanbases I've ever been around and they've been like this even before they fired Richt.

I was disappointed when the school skipped rehiring the architect of the greatest college football team in history, but you'd have to be blind to miss the solid improvement under Richt. Neither side is perfect but the offense showed signs of explosiveness and the defense is playing fast and aggressive again, far more reminiscent of our heyday than we've seen since Butch. 10 wins and being robbed in the Orange Bowl exceeded my expectations for this year, especially with the undermanned roster. Comparing what Richt did at Georgia is as relevant as what Jimmy did at OSU, Butch at NC and Howard at UL,etc...it doesn't matter.
What does matter, is what they do here at UM in S Florida. The players coming in are SF ballers. We'll be much nearer full strength this year. If we see zero improvement, then there is credence to the claim that he might be limited to below elite...but we are nowhere near the point to make such judgement. Dec 31st this year will be a lot better yardstick.

CMR is a major upgrade from just 2 years ago but the original poster may not be wrong unless... coach makes some changes. Some body needs to tell him that his plan of out executing the other teams is not working often enough to beat good teams. Sorry coach what your doing is not working how about we add some ....

Formations - we have like 2
Some motion
Some counters

Just those 3 things IMO would be a tremendous help. If you watch CFB everyone else has motion,jet sweeps,counters and all kinds of deception designed to make defenses

Make poor decisions
Create good matchups
Open spaces on the field

Its very basic stuff. Just lining up and running plays from the same formation is not cutting it and has zero chance against good teams next year or any other year.

During the regular season I heard a couple of announcers saying that every team except one, that has won a National Title in something like the last ten years, had a minimum 35 5-star athletes on their rosters. They mentioned this year's teams; Bama, Clemson, Ohio State being among the top, but Georgia having the most of any program - MR recruited a lot of those.

A full roster and better QB might allow that.

There were a lot of WTF?? plays and series throughout the year, the most recent standout was the DJ wildcat series with the OB game still in reach. I still don't have a rational explanation for it.
But with a good QB/full roster, it may never have happened. Let's see Dec 31st..or later
 
Funny board sometimes. When we are losing in games the gameday thread is full of "bring in an oc" "deer in headlighta" "not prepared". And it's form the same posters telling people what kind of fans they are for questioning at the end of the season lol
