We are Mark Richt’s Georgia

It's funny posters think Perry starts next year and suddenly our offense looks like Oklahoma's. Is the playbook suddenly going to have slants...drags routes...multiple types of screen passes? Maybe a hitch or a curl route or some routes combos that actually attack different levels of the field. Richts playbook has a total of 8 plays and 3 formations.

Considering it’s widely known that Richt told Rosier he would never start for him you’re taking an awful lot of liberties in your assessment of what Rosier can handle as it pertains to a playbook.
You do realize that an offensive game plan has an off a lot to do with what your quarterback actually execute right?

Y’all mad for not going to the playoffs ? Take off the orange and green glasses and look at who Miami had playing meaningful minutes.

Hate to say it, but we are. We’ll be competitive. Win 9-11 games per year. But we’ll never be elite.

If you can make that evaluation after 1 full recruiting cycle and 2 seasons....well, ok.

Maybe the poster is using the sample size from UGA too...well, ok.

Then he has made the determination that we will never be elite under Richt.
Duly noted.

Maybe you can answer for him as to who he'd like to replace Richt with at this point.

I'm assuming "elite" is a coach who has won, or played for a Natty?
Let's list the candidates that are available....

I found one.
Les Miles.

No thanks.

ill wait to judge, Richt has never had a roster full of Florida savages like he will the next 3-4 years

It doesn't take 3-4 years to beat teams with inferior talent.

You realize recruiting wasn't the issue at UGA, right?

FSU and ND had better talent on paper.
Richt has his QB next year and hopefully some stud CB's.
No more excuses after next year.

A few things:

1. Nothing about his coaching, got it. Not sure of the point of discussing this with you when there is no mention of the obvious coaching issues but continuing on...

2. Richt has lost 7 games during his tenure at Miami:

VT
ND (they were 4-8 last year)
FSU
Clemson
Wisc
Pitt
UNC

- 4 of 7 were to teams with inferior talent (VT, Wisc, UNC and Pitt)
- 2 of 7 were to teams with losing records (ND in 2016 and Pitt in 2017)

3. Does he need 3-4 years to beat teams with inferior talent?

I'll keep this short.

I'm as ****ed off as anyone about this season.
I hate losing.

We have obvious coaching issues.

Not sure of the point of discussing this with you when there is no mention of the obvious, historically "Miami" bad, QB play.
I want to see a very good, mobile QB on this team and go from there. Doesn't have to be great. Just very good.

The best coaches in America with the best national recruiting classes loses to inferior talent every year.

Our average national recruiting ranking over the last 4 years is 18.25, with no top-10 classes.
It's not like we blow away, talent wise, other teams like the Bama's an the OSU's of the world.

Listen, your a good poster.
I think you get my point.

Tangent?
You, or the OP does not like Richt.

Ok, your the "GM".
What do we do?

If it's about getting a real OC in here, I'm good with that.

He said we will not be elite with him.
So Richt goes?

State our options.

Jury is still out on his Miami tenure. He’s done wonders here so far. So I say give the man time. Solid staff also. I will say you see an example like Frost at UCF and it makes you drool.

The guys who run this site are very sharp. They are also too close to the program and consequently there is plenty of public relations-type material shoved here, and it impacts the real-world appraisal of the entire board. Phrases like national championship are thrown around like water, even when our recruiting numbers don't suggest it and neither do any of the other relevant numbers.

I am immune to it because I've held the same points of reference for decades -- well studied and successfully applied -- and they aren't going to be deflected just because some fellow Canes fans are desperate for another glory era. When and if it happens all the signs will have long since pointed in that direction.

A few things:

1. When I responded to the poster (about 3-4 years to beat inferior teams), I didn't know it was necessary or logical to discuss the QB.

2. How come other QBs, atrocious QBs can play well (against us) but our coach can't do anything with ours.

- Alex Hornibrook had 15 INTs this year and set an OB record with TDs in the game

Switch Hornibrook and Rosier and we still lose this game.

3. What was Pitt's average recruiting class? Or Wiscy? Or VT (last year) or UNC (last year)? Why are we losing to teams with inferior talent? How come other coaches can get more out of their chitty players? Why do we need 3-4 years?

4. As for the best coaches in America with the best national recruiting classes loses to inferior talent every year. Sure, teams lose and the best coaches lose. The best coaches also win and have real success. Richt isn't in this category. Meyer and Dabo lost to chitty teams, but they're elite coaches. Richt isn't.

There are also another group of coaches who never had the best talent: Patterson, Kelly, Briles, Petersen and Dantonio. They find a way to put their players in the best position to win and get the most out of players that are inferior. They coach them up.

I don't get your point. I am not calling for Richt to be fired. I am hoping for changes because the issues are obvious.

I will tell you what we needed when Richt was at UGA. When he hired bobo at OC our offense took off but the defense was to weak. Once that got shored up it was never hiring a special teams coach..........at all...........that lost us to many games. Not being game day ready for big games was very problematic. I remember one year watching a video of him hamming it up doing high dives with the players.......and looking like our kids did nothing but party all week before the next game.

I see Richts awesome new tan and goatee and about 40lbs of extra weight since he left UGA. Hes enjoying that miami life style. He enjoys the relationships and teaching men to be good men. Football is not in his top 4 list of biggest priorities and im not saying it should be...........unless of course you are paying him millions of dollars a year to make his players think so.

You posting here to bash Richt is a really bad look, move on.

Richts dumb *** had Brad Kayaa running RPO all last year. He's more close to a trying to fit a square peg guy than an innovative , playing to your talent guy imo.

Richt was to me an avg play caller before the year...i now have him as slightly below avg. Hes 2 qbs in on "not his guys". He suddently isnt going to draw up motions or create mismatches because he has Perry or Williams at qb.

10 wins though was a good season...i give him praise for that. i believe with better coaching we should have won 12 of our games.
