We are in Denial with the high expectations...

Its always been a three year job its just people think we have pro bowlers everywhere n we dont and another coach isn't going to turn shytinto pudding.

Then u have the but crew "but dorsett duke morris are nfl players" yea what kind of nfl players is the real question. They r getting nfl coaching n still r just a number on a roster in the nfl. Thw simple truth is lock down sfla or be dog ****. I will know by this cycle if these guys will turn it around.....ay the game or get played....i dont think i can put myself through this though im almost on flat line already. These nfl players r the same players they were when they were here. Maybe like two r better ( shields and.....) but argue for the rest of em. Duke is the same but in the nfl he worse because players r faster.

What was the one thing butch players said when they went to the nfl? Reporters would ask how have u ajusted to the speed of the nfl? I remember well butch players would say its the same speed as miami. Rt now our team speed is *** besides some freshmen players

So, if we get NFL Pro Bowler's at all positions we will win some games. In the meantime it would be nice to beat a 2-5 ND team.

When u have no depth because of schollies and have plan b dudes on ur roster or pla c u in trouble. This is miami and we dont have fkin dbs and rbs.......miami miami miami......how? How how how.....sfla has tons of ayers n u telling me our roster looks the way it looks is criminal. I already know MR sux at x and os so his job then is to recruit elite players from sfla that been going everywhere else.

U think saban or fisher or whomever would let us get sean taylor? Reed? Wilfork? Them dude would be going elsewhere. Until they fix this we will always lose because miami was but on players nothing else

Just stop.

These posts are pathetic. We should be at worst 7-1 right now. Richt has been an unmitigated disaster.

But recruiting wise we have seen a major improvement thus far. In the short period of time last season with a small class we are seeing great returns. So far, even though no one has signed on the dotted line, 2017 looks great. Larry Coker has proven with talent almost any coach can win. If you build it wins will come.

BTW, Richt has been bad, but if execution was better that would be an after thought. He hasn't been nearly as bad as our OL and lack of discipline!!!! An no I am not making excuses just stating the truth.

The 2017 class is not shaping up to be great. Especially with us being in the midst of a four-game losing streak.

We're once again losing the best skill talent in South Florida to Alabama (Jeudy). Donaldson is a stud but we need far more than just one plug & play OL in this class. WR is a dire position of need and we're striking out on top talent. CB recruiting has been an absolute dumpster fire with Henderson & Edwards decommitting to go along with losing every since head-to-head battle with UF for corners.

DL recruiting is looking outstanding under Kuligowski and we have a couple nice blue-chippers sprinkled in with Perry & Dallas. But there are massive holes at our biggest positions of need (OL, CB, WR) and we'll be hard pressed to land more premier talent down the stretch with the abysmal offense Richt and co. are putting out there every week.

Ouch.

Only means one thing: Give Richt 7 years to get his players.

This is real talk

Once again, we scored fewer points against UNC than James Madison. We scored fewer points against VT than East Carolina and Syracuse. We scored fewer points against FSU than South Florida. Do we really have less talent than James Madison, East Carolina, Syracuse, and South Florida? Temple is currently ranked higher than our offense in Yards/Game. Is it really setting our expectations too high to think we should have a better offense than Temple?

They have better play calling and maybe mobile qbs.....but we all know MR isnt a genius as a playcaller and hes not getting fired so we need talent.

I also lowered my expectations of monogamy with my wife. It's helped tremendously. When I walk in the house and see the pool boy and the lawn guy DP'ing her and spackling her eyes shut it doesn't even bother me.

2 more wins, and we get a trip to El Paso. There are no gimmes left on the schedule either. I'll tell you what though. Give Coach Rix 4 weeks to prepare for Louisiana Tech, and we'll give em **** in the bowl game.

David Carradine is that you?

Call me Grasshopper.

OP makes valid points but you bring up some good ones too. This is one of my biggest concerns as well. Richt slurpers are going to say that it's the talent but I'm not buying it. There is something fundamentally very wrong with our Offense and it isn't just the talent. I hate to say it but it reminds me very much of D'Onofrio's ****** Defense in the beginning of the Golden years. We were all in total denial, blaming Shannon and look how ****** that Defense became 4 years later.

It very well may be Playcalling, weak offensive coaches, lack of real OC... We won't know for sure for a while Because we have no depth and so many problems on this team. There are so many issues that need to be fixed, and hope CMR gets it done

The “our expectations were too high” crowd always start talking about talent. As though we all expected to beat Bama tomorrow.

We cannot even beat some the worst teams in football and perform worse than lower level schools. Suddenly our recruiting classes are worse than Cal Polly Tech and the players that go to the NFL are not immediately pro bowlers so they must not have been any good either.

We can only beat UNC if we have 2001 talent?

These arguments are stupid pure nonsense.

Dude, the way I see it, we are one of the worst teams in the ACC. We have some talent, but not enough of it. Coaching most definitely helps and makes a huge difference, but it's not like CMR inherited the 2001 team like Coker did. This team has maybe 60 healthy players and weak skill players in important roles. Tell me who in the ACC has a worse line than us? We can start at that...

Recruiting? That only matters for the previous coaches. We won't know about that for a few years with current coaches recruits. I think Golden did ok with recruiting but terrible in several areas (DB, OL and until this past class LB come to mind)

Like I said, this whole thing is a clusterfu&k, not just one problem

The guy got us an IPF. Is out there crootin' freaking 10 year olds every week to build it up for the future. Has our guys not giving up like Golden's sissy teams. Has us balling on defense with a great hire and has us about 11 points from being 7-1. Yeah he hasn't called plays in 9 years and it's been a rough ride for him to get up to speed but OMG lets fly the ***ing bannerz after one year!

Yea bro! 11 points away.

Anyone with a functioning brain realizes we were never going to do anything productive in the final 2 minutes to win a single one of those games with Richt'Onfrio. Let me break down how all those games best case scenarios would've gone down.

FSU - Convert the XP with 2 mins left, Jimbo takes the ball down the field and hits a game winning FG as time expires
UNC - We had the ball for the last drive. Game was in our hands, Richt'Onfrio did what he does.
ND - Carter recovers the fumble, we proceed to go 3 and out for the 60th time this season, ND gets the ball back at their 40 yard line, marches down the field, kicks a FG as time expires

You know how the best case scenarios would've gone down if we had a real coach in each of those game?

IT WOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN A SINGLE POSSESSION GAME. CANES WIN.

And LOL at Richt putting together a class worth a **** this year. I swear, 90% of this board suffers from Alzheimer's

Where is Jager when we need him? Yeah, I forgot Richt got out there and missed that extra point against FSU. I forget he told those refs to not send that feed to the review crew and for Malcom to step out at the 3 yard line. I forget that Richt broke Sunny's leg so Tyree could get plastered all game at VT. I forget Richt told Kaaya to throw that interception at the begging of the ND game. We sucked before Richt got here and we still do.

You ain't making filet mignon with turds my friend. There is no OL depth, not Richts fault. There is no WR depth, not Richts fault. There is no defensive depth, not Richts fault. There is no CB depth, not Richts fault. But it's all on him right because he called some dumb plays? If you go back and look a lot of those plays were Kaaya failing to audible correctly or execute the RPO. At the end of the day, or course it falls on him, he's getting paid to be the coach. But the players have to execute as well and they ain't getting it done. It's a collective effort and to deny the Golden's last two **** classes don't have anything to do with this is ridiculous.

It always goes here. We have the worse talent in the ACC. Every year someone says we have the worse talent in the ACC.

It does not look that way on the recruiting boards. Does not look that way in preseason. Does not look that way on the field.

Some only start saying these when we start losing all our games. Besides the OL, which is a real issue, there is enough talent in every other position to beat every team in the ACC save for Clemson and Louisville.

Can anyone honestly suggest we have less talent than a James Madison? The talent argument is a fallacy. It is only brought up once we start losing as a convenient excuse. There are real issues and actual problems that can be fixed and should have been fixed before they lost 4 games.

But do not blame all the losses on the OL because there are ways to work around that issue…which just happens to be what most people are complaining about.

Butch Davis spoiled us with that monster he put together.

Expectations at The U will forever be through the roof because of what he was able to assemble.

Without high expectations we might as well be USF.

I'd like one of these dudes to bump their post from September when we were 4-0 and ranked #10 . Surely even then they were saying we had no talent.

The talent argument would fly if we had lost to Alabama and Ohio State in the playoff. Sure, we don't have a 2001 amount of talent, but there's enough to beat 2-5 teams and ****** coastal teams.

One more thing to add to things you forgot: Reading my post.

Yup and it hurtsbecause we all know that cant happen again because we need a coach whos evals r on point and when he gets his teeth into u he closes n delivers.

We will neverget a coach like that again

13 years of misery makes people quite irrational. This same 8-5 team last year lost 2 starting WR (Coley and Richards are literally all we have and every team knows it), has a terrible line and is without their RT (not sure that matters much) has an injured/lack of pocket presence QB... Did we forget how bad we were offensively last year too??? Well here is a reality check, we only averaged 27.8 ppg last year and are sitting at 32.9 ppg this year. Yes that number is inflated with the FAMU game, but still, not any better. Could Richt be calling better plays? Maybe he is just instilling his game plan and realizes just how little he has on offense that it's not going to work well. Hence, the clusterf&ck we have now!

On defense, we lost our TOP THREE leading tacklers, Bush and Burns and lots of depth (no fillers like Kamalu, McCord, Heurtelou,Kirby, etc. yet somehow we are supposed beat everyone. This side is the most improved as we all see, but when we lost a few people And we play 6 freshmen at once games like VT happen. No depth does that!

The same people that expected better from this coaching staff are saying "let's give him 1 more year and his own recruiting class to really see." So basically when we are starting 2-3 FRESHMEN LINEMAN, that will help us decide?! This is definitely a project, and like it or not, we aren't going to see anything for AT LEAST 2 years! I hope he turns it around because this is a disaster!

Many experts, had us as a 4-5 win team and we were outraged. Well... maybe that's the reason they are experts and we are fans.

Go ahead, neg away to make yourself feel better, but it is what it is! We are the team with ~60 players and have Malcolm Lewis and Berrios Returning kicks because of the lack of depth!

Sincerely,

One of those delusion in denial fans.

All this was being said before the season started and people down voted for whatever reason and would say the people who weren't drinking the kool aid werent real Canes fans or trolls.. I was lmao at them then and lmao even harder at the meltdowns after every loss.. This team wasn't good last year, wtf made anyone think we'd be any better with a lesser talented team.. LOL
