We are getting close to Kickoff

He was down with RJ and Ken leaving early.. He probably talked with them the most during the period where no one knew their decision...hoping they would stay ... but now he feels the defense is better... because the hunger is intense... G Willis has something to prove.. Bethel wants his place at the table.. Nesta has that dawg in him and can't wait to prove himself which has Ford fired up..the transfer know this is his last shot... Garvin and Rouseau are working so hard he can't wait to see them play DJax brings leadership and fire Joe, and us linebackers are ready to prove that we were not a fluke and the DBs and WR compete against each other so hard it has everybody fire up.. I feel the same way about the D more excited to see the Offense.. our offense has weapons of old... don't care who is at the helm at QB..I want the best man to do the job and if he does just okay we are going to have an exciting season

I'm ready!

Is it fair to say we might be even better at dt this year? I think We will have more of a pass rush from that spot. This is great to hear

Going to be hard to replace McIntosh. Rewatching some games from last season and he was pretty dominant. There's definetaly talent there, hopefully they can take the next step.

Willis
Bethel
Ford
Tito
Nesta
Miller

That's a solid six

We'll be in the playoffs this year. Should've been last year but we'll be there this year. I think one of the semifinal games is at the Rock.

Sometimes when we think it is going to be difficult to replace players that is when other players step up next in line.

Case and point, at this time last season people were worrying about our secondary losing so many key players...

All of those guys are unproven. We lost 3 NFL players on our d-line along with Trent who I personally believe played the most consistent ball of all them.

Do they have talent....sure, but I need to see it on the field for an entire season.

I actually think Willis is as talented, if not more talented, than RJ. I think we'll miss Norton's big body more.

Neither.

He’s not head coach AND graphic designer and artist.

If he even saw this before it was published/printed, it was to barely take a quick glance at it and say “OK that’s fine”. Some of you people just don’t know how the real world works
Thank god i didnt have to say that...

****!! I'm ready to run through the smoke NOW.

Took the words right out of my mouth. There is no doubt in my mind that Willis will have a monster year.

How can you all be so confident that a 5th year senior who has never played more than a couple games is going to all of the sudden put it all together and have this monster year?

He played 9 games and was as productive as the starting dts in 2016. He’s practiced all fall and was said to be unblockable and per coaches and players has emerged as a leader on the team. Don’t know him but from the looks of it he’s more focused than ever

All you need is one "War Daddy" at DT. People act like you need 2-3 elite DTs to have an elite D. Willis if he is as hungry as they say and lives up to his talent and hype will be all we need.

Not many people on here could tell you who Warren Sapps backup was during his epic 1994 season. Didn't matter, he was all we needed. That could be Willis.

He averaged 2 tackles a game in 2016. Slow your roll. Does he have talent??? Yes. Has he proven he can stay healthy and focused on and off the field??? No. We have a lot of unproven talent on our D-Line. Let’s hope they all play up to everyone’s expectations

He had 1.5 sacks 5.5 tfls in 9 games. In 13 games Norton had like 2 sacks in 10 tfls as a starter. If Willis started I’m willing to bet he would have been more productive getting starting minutes.

They will, production is going to be there regardless especially with the type of defense we run. Production always get replaced and we aren’t lacking in talent on the dline either way

They play two different positions. Norton is a **** nose guard. Don’t compare them two.

You can compare it to RJ McIntosh too, point still remains the same, in 2016 mcintosh only had 2.5 sacks 9.5 tfls in 13 games as a starter. If willis would have started he would have provided at the least that if not more

Yep! Deeper unit and each one is hungry with something to prove. I love it.

And if we handle business the way we should, there should be ample opportunity for all 6 to play meaningful minutes this season. No reason why Miller shouldn't see the field versus Savannah St, Toledo, FIU, UVa and Duke.

Keep these guys fresh so that they are still killing it towards the end of the season.

Valid question.

You don't have to bite a doughnut to know that it is sweet. Willis has always had an elite level of talent. What exist between the ears, is what was holding him back. By all accounts, the previous mentioned issue, is no longer an issue. Richt called the very guy that he forced to sit out last year, because of said issues, a current leader on the team. He didn't say, Willis is in good standing, or he is trying to get things together. He called him a leader! That, along with what his peers/teammates are saying about him, tells me everything that I need to know.

The talent was never a question. Now that he has sorted out his personal situation, he has done nothing but show that he is ready to take that next step. He was one of our best DT's, even when he was mentally not focused. I, for one, can't wait to see what he is going to do, with him knowing that this is his last audition to make it to the league.
