Watch congdon on the pull

SJ is completely overmatched. He’s an FCS guard. At center it will likely be a different story. Buchanan is just not a good enough athlete at this level and that translates to lack of physicality amongst other things. Congdon is light years ahead of both. If Woodrow didn’t get hurt, I bet we end up with Congdon and Woodrow at guard. The Cantwell experiment at guard is over.
When did Woodrow get hurt? WF game? Practice?

I was wondering why SJ got 2nd team snaps at center last night.

Truthfully. We were led to believe he couldn't snap. Seems quite comfortable doing it. Yes , it was central michigan , but still crisp snaps
We were told he couldn’t snap, which was a bunch of BS. Yes, I fell for the lie too. He could always snap, he just can’t run block or pass block. He didn’t mysteriously learn how to forget to snap.

He’s a center and has always been a center. He’s just not good enough to do it at the FBS, or especially the P4 level

Let's not exaggerate and say no guards have gotten push like that. Max has had a few pancakes actually. But yes Congdon is very clearly the future at G. He also had at least one whiff, but that's to be expected. SJ also played better, I saw him actually blocking LB's on pulls and not just running right by dudes. I said SJ should never play again, but for real he could be a great C if he starts actually blocking guys at the 2nd level.

McCoy also drove his guy back.

adding to your point ... all solid play by buchanon is a plus, he's playing his future position ...

the run right after this one, Congdon also made a beautiful block for another nice Mallory run. I think those were his 1st 2 plays of the game. Heck of a start.
