Our O-Line is soft. Yearby gets yards because all it takes is for them to get a hat on SOMEBODY and Yearby will make someone miss to spring the run.
Walton is more of a downhill runner in the mold of EJ or Gore (after surgeries) and he needs the line to get some push.
It's the most crushing thing to say...but we are not a physical football team. It's not an unenjoyable experience to play us. There's no concern on the other side of the field. No second thoughts about safety or well being. Good teams inspire that level at least a smidge of worry. "Sheesh, I might could get hit hard or even worse" That ain't there with these boys man.
you know you're right and its primarily because of the finesse style of offense which were running. Lineman are being taught to hold their blocks and pass protect, even during run plays because they are draws you have to sell it as a pass first to hold the Dline. they have no aggression towards running plays, no guards pulling, no traps, takes too long to develop when your running back is 7-10 yards behind the line of scrimmage.
