Have you watched our games? They don't make mistakes? His interviews by his action seem to be coach speak. I will say dudes also gotta do there part and don't cause unnecessary friction. Life now is all about instant gratification. But if that's what you looking for then go to a school with zero questions in your way.I mean there is a ton of interview evidence where he talks about valuing length and athleticism and ability to play in space, so he’s not looking for plodding run stuffers.
Toure and Smith probably just don’t make many mistakes as the other guys and I’m still excited to see Marcelin work back from injury.
No one hedges back to “they said” harder than @DMoney. Hetherman clearly wants a D-battery run support guy.I'll go ahead and ask you then since the obvious doesn't seem to be working. Do YOU(**** Greentree, **** coach opinions, reps any of that) believe no you're and chase smith are the two best options we have at linebacker and the only other one worthy of it is just marcellin? Do you think ALL of these highly rated kids we've recruited previously to play the position we're just missed by the staff and they're not talented enough to play here at all? Again this is a schematic choice that heatherman has made. He's shown that his value at the position is ONLY in run support and he believes our secondary plus nickel is talented enough to do the rest. He's doing this by choice. When you look at struggling teams like FSU, they have plenty of good athletes but not enough good football players. With the way UM is recruiting, we should be able to land 3-4 of the top 50 LBs in the country who are actually productive at the position.
Legitimate question: is Chris Cole a knockback tackler? Wouldn't he be a better comparison than Jeremiah Smith and Becker at Indiana?I would love to have Reese. But I don't really see the knockback and physicality of Reese. I do see some rare athletic stuff for a 6'3 kid.
I’ve been saying we need to recruit more athletic linebackers on the show for months. We’re not doing a good enough job at that position. No one hedges back to “they said” harder than @DMoney. But also then why ask them to play deep hole Tampa 2 MLB from the mug?!
The idea of having one run LB and one coverage LB isn’t happening at Miami right now.
Because they should be the most athletic guy on their HS team, or at least in the top-3 (re places with tons of talent like STA, IMG, Gorman, St Frances, or Heritage), to go to Miami. Having +athleticism also gives you more shots at the ball.Specifically, I think we need to sign more kids who play significant snaps on offense. Lewis, Morgan, DJ, Beason, and even guys like Colin McCarthy all had the ball in their hands in high school.
Thank you sir. In your opinion, which LBers on the roster can play now not named Toure and Smith? And who are almost ready with a bit more development and coaching either for the playoff run this season or the 2027 season?Randle to me is a special teamer for a year or two and figure it out type player. That straight-line speed and athleticism would be a true asset on teams, but I think he has to "see" it as a LB'er and that rarely translates to this level. Certainly not quickly.
You can use a guy like this as a red zone asset, a lead-insert blocker, a teams guy.
I'm a dude on the internet who has never met the player, so take anything I say with that lens in mind, but he's an athlete, not a LB right now to my eyes.
