VT the type of game that Golden gets exposed in

I've watched VT a couple times this year and they blitz the **** out you. Guys coming from all over the place, confusing the oline. I love Kaaya but he's still a true freshman and he hasn't faced pressure like this.

this is on coley, not kaaya, run the ball and screen game, not bubble, but rb screens and hit them over the top... VT will slaughter that shorgun play action game and run game coley loves to run

Only way we beat them is to put 8 men on the line of scrimmage and trust our corners to cover their 2 -3 star receivers in press coverage.

Golden will never do that because he doesn't trust his players.

Yep, I predict an ugly night for Kaaya

agreed, and I hate to revert to the past, but I think offendively we need to go with what got us our last W there in 05, run the ball down their throat

Miami's not going to be able run the ball.

Foster is going to implement the same gameplan as Louisville. VT is going to bring 8 man fronts to stop the run and the Hokies are going to blitz the **** out of Kaaya.

Miami should be working on their protection packages, their slants, wheel routes, hot reads to try to expose VT's pressure. Coley needs to nix all slow developing plays from the playbook. Everything needs to be "quick" and "precise."

And I don't want to hear a postgame press conference from Golden that VT threw some defensive wrinkles at Miami that they weren't expecting. VT's gameplan should be very clear to Miami's coaches.

On it's face, this game guaranteed to give us trouble, no matter how our season is going. Thursday night road games are always weird. One key fact that I overlooked was that we have our bye week before this game. I think the effect of playing on a Thursday night might be lessened by our bye week. The atmosphere is still going to be insane, but at least we'll have some more time for preparation.

Our OL will look unprepared and generally poor, even with 12 days to prepare.

If we get beat in this game, no excuse just fire him before he even shakes hands at midfield. VT has to play this thurs. and we get a bye week to prepare. I know in recent seasons bye has played us tough, and Golden can find a way to make it seem that Bye weeks are actually a disadvantage. But we should look much crisper than them and execute better. We should have them scouted and have a complete game plan, offense, defense, special teams. This is actually the biggest game of the year for Golden. He fails here and I can see wheels coming completely off. Like every game we play, I have no idea what to expect.

Brewer gets rattled and is mistake prone under pressure. Problem is, we don't generate much pressure, particularly up the middle.

I expect a tight game and probably a loss. I would guess we'll be a 4-6 point underdog so it's hardly as lopsided as many are suggesting. The Hokies don't have a clamp defense like Louisville. Canes should be energized after a bye week. Well prepared, by our standards. The opponent is hardly overwhelming. When you are relying on an upper class transfer quarterback it generally means you aren't overwhelming.

Kaaya has to avoid critical mistakes in all the situations that will be unfamiliar to him. Virginia Tech was tied with us in Morris' freshman year at the end of the third quarter and then baited him into two interceptions that changed the game. They have another Fuller back there with gambling ballhawk tendencies. James Coley needs to understand he can't get cute and pretend that gadget plays combined with 18 rushes entering the 4th quarter is the proper blend in that environment.

I believe we'll finish 6-6 regular season.

VT - L
UNC - W
FSU - L
UVA - L
Pitt - W

Bowl - Who gives a sh*t

I think the Canes have a great shot to win this game.

Thursday night, prime time, national TV audience, rivalry game. This is what big time college football is all about.

I big road win could be just what the doctor ordered and set us up for a great finish!
