Visual evidence that Odoglu is the starter at RT

Odogwu has been getting the majority of the reps at RT, but McDermott and Isidora (with Joe Brown sliding in at guard) have also gotten reps.

In practice, Sonny has been shockingly impressive. I couldn't believe it at first, but he is performing consistently. He finally looks comfortable as a football player, and his physical gifts (particularly his long arms and upper-body strength) are starting to show.

If it was up to me, I'd give him a chance to start against FAU and Bethune. McDermott's future is at LG and we may as well get it started now. If Sonny can't handle it, we can always move McDermott back outside.

You may be right. The problem is that he's lining up against guys who are not asked to rush the passer often (that skillset hasn't been developed like it should). If you line up Sonny against a speed rusher on an opposing team whose sole job is to get to the qb - lights out. JMO

Who is Sonny lining up against? Trent Harris?

He has done it against our top guys, but it's practice. Performing in games is something different.

I'm not a true believer in Sonny until he does it on Saturdays, given his history. All I'm saying is that I hope he gets a chance to prove it's for real.

last year Mcdermott was getting worked at tackle...Darling looked more comfortable. At guard Mcdermott did work though...like you stated i think he would be a killer guard...at the Brandon Linder level inside.

I pray Sonny gets it...because Jahair Jones imo is a year away.....Jones though has aggression/ and want. We recruited the position well...just didnt forsee Ereck Flowers bouncing and being a legit 1st rounder. Isidora has good feet and he maybe able to long some swingt tackle mins like BWASH use to..but he is a guard.

I think we need blowouts so the young ol can get work...we will need 2 of them to play this year.

Would like to see a solid two-deep develop instead of moving everyone around. Let these kids learn one position.

This seems to be the consensus among people who know what to look for in offensive linemen. Theses young tackles better be ready to go.

Good luck with that.
