Virginia Tech

Canes miscues allow Virginia Tech to take the lead 4-3. You could see early on in this game that McMahon didn't have it, but for some reason Miami waited far too long to get someone up in the bullpen.

Romy throws another ball away, Amditis with a poor effort on a ball in the dirt all contributed to Tech scoring runs.

I'm pretty sure Jim Morris needs glasses as he challenges a pickoff where Escala was out by a foot and a half.

This team...

Just anecdotally from watching our games, it seems like replay takes an excessive amount of time with a low percentage of calls overturned.

Wheels coming off. Now 6-3 VT. Amditis reminding us why Quinones is the primary catcher.

Canes claw back an unearned run before Amditis swings and misses at a pitch in the dirt stranding Cloonan and Gil. 6-4.

Cloonan and Gil continue their late season turnaround. Both are doing a great job making solid contact and getting on base.

Bats have gone silent. VT making a pitching change with Gonzalez on first (walk) and nobody out.
Federman should be done also with some combo of Hammond/Bartow finishing the game.

My fault for praising them. Cloonan strikes out, Gil pops out with two on.

Amditis turns around a tough day and bloops a single to bring in Gonzalez and Reyes.

Should note that Paige is in the game for Escala after he airmailed two relays to the backstop.

Morris is calling a very aggressive game starting runners and foregoing bunts. We saw that early in the season before the offense proved anemic.

Hammond gets them in order after the HR. 7-6 after 7. Top of the order, which has struggled today for the most part, due up.

Hokie pitching change after a Zamora single and Jenkins walk. Quinones is 2nd in the ACC during league play in double plays grounded into. If you’re going to bunt, now seems like the time with Romy and Reyes to follow.

Quinones lays down the bunt (and reaches safely!). Ruled a fielders choice. Loaded.

Reyes with the two RBI single. If only someone had taught him not to slide headfirst into first base....

Lane running for Quinones.

Baserunning blunder by Lane (literally his only job) erases a runner.
