Virginia Tech

Amditis starting at catcher, Quinones is the DH, and Reyes moves to LF. After a clean game last night, this is not our best defensive unit starting today.

Two run homer from Jenkins. He’s making the most of Burns’ injury so far.

McKendry has given 3 runs back. Still not out of it. McKendry has now committed four errors in his last three starts.

McKendry gets the strikeout to end the 1st. This game feels a lot like last Sunday.

Jenkins goes deep again for two more runs. VT starter is done without recording an out in the 2nd.

Game 2 Canes bats come alive. 7-3 lead in the top of the 2nd. Tony Jenkins having a day. Just hit his 2nd homerun in as many at-bats. The kid is coming on like a boss!!!!

Canes add two more on a walk, two hit batters, a Reyes sac fly, and a Cloonan single. 9-3. Somehow we’ve only played 4 innings....

Canes really starting to bring out the bats. Quite frankly they are killing it!!! 18 hits and only 5 strikeouts thru 7 innings. Imagine that, 3 x more hits than strikeouts.!!!!!

Canes leading 16-4 bottom of the 7th.

1,2,3 from Veliz and the Canes make it 7 in a row (longest win streak since 2016). No announced starter for tomorrow but have to imagine it’s McMahon.

Same lineup with McMahon making his first ACC start. Amditis at catcher again is interesting, but I guess he’s been catching McMahon and why mess with what worked yesterday.

Canes up 3-0 after 1. RBIs from Gonzalez and Gil (2). McMahon labored through the bottom of the inning.

3-1 on a solo homer. Canes squandered a Zamora triple in the top half of the inning. Jenkins struggling today with a strikeout (reached third on a throwing error) and popout.
