Shadowspring is to Pringle as TouchMoney is to Jojo
I am confused as to why saying the most productive RB on the team last year is the best; is somehow controversial? He was easily the best RB on the team in 4 out of the last 6 games last year. I'm projecting ahead just a touch putting him ahead of Fletcher, but not sure still why he can't take a step like Fletcher did. He's easily better than the rest. Fletcher still struggles a bit with vision. When he hits the hole he's incredible. Pringle sees it almost always and pops thru when you don't think there's anything there. Just because he's smaller and runs a 10.4 doesn't mean he doesn't have a natural feel for inside runs in our DUO scheme. He's really good at squeezing thru and getting 5 in a blink of an eye. Our other guys kinda plod thru there. Watch the tape and have the courage to call it as you see it.

“Pull the tape” is code for “I hope you don’t”
Please do so. Please. Looking at it objectively it's very clear. I don't have any problem saying Fletcher is the best today, but Pringle is easily better than all the others. Pringle has better vision today than Fletcher and absolutly better vision than what we saw from Fletcher as a freshman.

This is old I’m pretty sure. He was doing an anniversary post of him and his GF and posted a few pictures. He posted 1 of him in full uniform that looked recent

Pringle has to get stronger. He gets brought down on first contact and also can’t pick up blitzes.

If he can fix those two things, then yeah he would be great for 15 touches a game.

Pringles biggest issue is pass protection which his presense in the lineup could tip your hat. Just a small guy but make no mistake his explosiveness and ability to find holes, his burst looked to be the best on the roster espcially during the latter part of the regular season

He can pick up blitzes and shows a willingness to do so. He got run over by a 240 lb LB that got drafted top 5 but still made the play enough to get the pass off. There's a difference between failing to do something and the coaches correctly trusting Marty to get it done at a higher level at that time.

Your 1st point is correct but he should be able to improve in that area in year 2 as most players do. Even without an improvement in contact balance and strength he's still easily RB #2.

I feel like people forgot what he did in the last 5 games. We did actually see what we saw.

The most exciting part about Pringle to me this season is most of his Superior ypc average was runs right up the A gap on a consistent basis in 2025. The 10.4 speed only got loose really 1 time against Pitt but the defense had an angle. He didn't get his average like Lyle off 1 90 yard run. That's still to come.

Regarding his pass blocking, instead of making him pick up a 240lb lb running downhill, Mensah has the feet to leak Pringle out and punish the defense for vacating the middle of the field. A quick tuddy will make em think twice about that. There's more than 1 way to stop a blitz

Elija Lofton is a consistent riser. He was explosive again today.

I enjoyed the bet hedging... he's explosive, but he doesn't break tackles or score?
I think there's still another level in him — the one where he's breaking tackles and scoring in real games — but the trajectory is right.

No

You’re the one making statements

You pull the ****** tape. Show your work

(You’re already backtracking to a more normal stance that I’m sure everyone agrees with)

I said what I said and stand by it. Pringle is the best RB on the team. Give me all day a 10.4 RB that's actually the one finding holes up the A gap most consistently. We did actually see this. There is tape. Fletcher still misses too many. He was seeing them better in the playoffs but we don't actually know what damage Pringle would've done also. IMO we'd be talking now about Pringle and Fletcher as RB1A and RB1B

Saying “I said what I said and stand by it”

Means **** all just like saying “pull the tape”

Show your work

The rest of the real world has 3+ years of Fletcher and him running wild against the best teams we faced all year

If you wanna be hype about Pringle good for you. I am too. No need to start saying weird stuff about him for no reason. The best RB on the team should be able to break tackles and I don’t think he broke one last year. Went down at first contact pretty much every time

But whatever. I don’t need to “pull the tape” such a meaningless thing to say

Pringle quite obviously has to learn to protect the qb. This staff hates negative plays and the qb is too important to the team to allow him to get hit. One the oft-referenced play where Pringle got run over blocking vs osu the problem was he just stood there for 2 seconds figuring out what to do. He didn’t understand where the heat was coming from. The coaches surely didn’t forget that he can run in the playoffs but in the biggest games sacks and turnovers are more important than a guy making a 4 yard run into 8 instead. That’s why he disappeared. If he’s not playing that will almost certainly be why.

Pull the tape. Watch the games. The offense was garbage for 5 or 6 games and we were on life support. Pringle was 1 of 3 freshman who saved us. Lyle was garbage. Marty wasn't doing anything. Even Fletcher was not running well. Pringle started finding room where our other RB weren't. He was popping out of piles for 5 to 7 play after play. Fletcher got hurt and it was Pringle who carried the team with Baby Jesus. We saw this. It happened. Upshaw saved us also with that 50 yard screen against Syracuse. I don't hate on anyone saying Fletcher is RB 1. Sure he earned it, he carried the team during our run. However, it's absolutely within the realm of possibility here that Pringle ends up as the best RB on the squad. The young man proved he's in the mix already as a true freshman. He just needs the ball.
