Vinny T is a ***boi - 86 Orange Bowl v. Oklahoma

The Fiasco Bowl, not even close. We were robbed.

For me, I think it’s a tie. I’ve never be that hurt over anything in sports in my life. I grieved both those games like a death in the family.

That 86 team, man, was up there with that 01 team. That’s the best team all time to have never won it. And we DOMINATED Pedo state in every facet of the game. We dominated the game to thoroughly that if Vinny even throws 3 picks instead of 5 we win that game by 21.

We outgained them 455 yards to 167 yards and had 22 first downs to their 8!!!!! But we had Vinny and 7 turnovers total.

A part of my soul died that night

I watched 86 game with my family which were all Psu fans. Remember screaming at the tv everytime Vinny threw a pick. That game hurt, but the Osu game took my soul. Haven't seen even a clip of that game since. Hurts to watch.

I didn’t see 86 live; I only saw the rewind. But FA SHO 03 hurts more for me.

I was in a house full of Buckeyes during this game, too. They were giving me **** the entire game, then we scored in OT...then Glenn Sharpe breaks up the pass, and the announcement of “The Miami Hurricanes are back to back National Champions”....and I went H.A.M on everyone in that house, including my ex....thumping my chest, and that flag came out, and I just hear Keith Jackson say, “wait, hold everything”. I dropped to my knees & crawled to the TV and kept saying “pls don’t do this to me, to us, to me...” And when they called P.I, I just stayed on my knees as they jumped around me celebrating.

Man, it still feels like yesterday

I was sitting it THAT endzone. Taking **** all night.
Right after I took this pic I screamed "f#ck all of you! We're National Champs!" and started walking out.
Some ashole then grabs me by the shoulder and says..."no, f#ck you", and points to the lower left where Porter threw the flag.

EDIT:
With todays tech, this shot could be tightened up a bit.
But why bother...

He was paid; I don’t care what anyone says. Dude was a Heisman Trophy Winner, and he found some inexplicable way to stall all of our drives. Him, not the team, him. We absolutely smoked PSU that game in every single category. He was gift wrapping ints, throwing it in to triple coverage sometimes.

U don’t go from looking like Tom Brady during the reg season, to NFL Jeff George in the bowl game. Guys we’re running wide open & he chose to throw it in between 2-3 PSU defenders every productive drive? Naw....he was paid off.
Sounds like jacory Harris’s sophomore year🤦🏾‍♂️

The most statistically lopsided championship game in the history of all team sports, where the dominating team lost.

So when someone after a game says, "yeah, but we outgained you, we should have won"....
my comment is always the same....
Check out the stats on the '86 Miami/Penn State game, then we'll talk.

That last throw was about as bad as any throw in the history of football. I will never believe he didn't throw that title game.

True..or maybe your claims are a little bit on the conspiracy side..**** who am I to judge I just saw pac and left eye in Walmart a couple days ago
Maybe it is a theory, but go back and watch the PSU game and tell me his play looks anything like what it did in the regular season. That last throw was as telegraphed as any as I have ever seen.

I’m with Thomas and Relly. I’m telling you, I’ve long thought Vinny threw that PSU game. That theory has been out there for a while by people. His play against Penn State especially, just don’t make sense! Nothing made sense about his play.

And I wouldn’t doubt he threw Tennessee game either.

It was Miami is the 80s and things were the wild Wild West. Throwing a game like that would’ve made someone or some “group” an obscene amount of money

Yea I’ve seen it in YouTube. I saw a QB pressing to make plays..could’ve probably been picked off 6 times in all honesty. He had some he threw into traffic. Penn state was blitzing a lot. Vinny was always a high turnover QB. Pretty sure he holds the record for picks thrown in a nfl season too. Just a high turnover proned qb

Thing is the Turnovers always followed in the league too..it’s not like we talking about a conservative low turnover QB..that same game Irvin and highsmith fumbled..were they in on it too?

This is ridiculous.

I went to school at UM then. The scooter accident was not pleasant. Vinnie had a limp during finals weeks.

On top of that, he went from November 15th (Tulsa) to January 2nd (Ped State) without playing in a game, and barely practicing.

Finally, people want to ignore the Sandusky defensive instructions, which were to attack Testaverde with everything they had, to hit him early and late, need to realize what Vinnie was up against.

Vinnie was going to be (and was) the #1 overall pick. Anyone who thinks he sacrificed years of sacrifice, and sold out his legacy (his fellow freshman Bernie Kosar won a title) for a little bit of "throw the game" money is just insane.

He threw for more yds..and TDs than Jim Kelly in the NFL.....Not too shabby...took the Jets to an AFCCG.....
