Vinny T is a ***boi - 86 Orange Bowl v. Oklahoma

He threw for more yds..and TDs than Jim Kelly in the NFL.....Not too shabby...took the Jets to an AFCCG.....
Never said he was “shabby” just saying what he was. I don’t mind QBs who take risk down field if you have the fire power at the skilled position. A lot of times the rewards out weighs the risk...He was a gunslinger who took risk. But Saying he was on that take in that 86 games is asinine. There was guys dropping passes, fumbling and making mistakes..was the whole offense in on the take? Of course ******* not..it’s like if a FSU fan says Winston was on the take vs Oregon in the semifinals game. It’s ridiculous. Vinnie was a high turnover QB in the NFL too

He was paid; I don’t care what anyone says. Dude was a Heisman Trophy Winner, and he found some inexplicable way to stall all of our drives. Him, not the team, him. We absolutely smoked PSU that game in every single category. He was gift wrapping ints, throwing it in to triple coverage sometimes.

U don’t go from looking like Tom Brady during the reg season, to NFL Jeff George in the bowl game. Guys we’re running wide open & he chose to throw it in between 2-3 PSU defenders every productive drive? Naw....he was paid off.
I tried to tell everybody he got paid dat game 🤦🏾‍♂️. He sold us out

He was also a two time pro bo
Maybe just has a bad game🤷🏾‍♂️
Agree, its mostly he had a bad game. Also, the coaches failed to adjust for all the blitzing and pressure. I re-watched the Tennessee and PSU games and kept wondering why the coaches didn't game plan better for the pressure they got.

I’ll ask Tomorrow. I was on phone with him earlier today.

I don’t remember the game even though that’s when I became a fan. My mom made me root for the nySicilian 😂. I’ve heard rumors he threw the game...I’ll confirm though!

Nah. Didn't throw it. Sandusky's D got in his head. Totally confused him.

Watched the last drive again...****, I remembered thinking Blades was gone on the out pattern with 1:20 left...

Overall if you rewatch the game there was dropped ball, fumbles, miscommunication on some routes and of course vinnies Turnovers..I’m pretty sure playmaker had a TD but tripped over his own feet before the catch too...it is what it but to accuse a guy of throwing a national title game is Pretty far

Didn’t vinny have a terrible game in the sugar bowl vs Tennessee also..like 4 fumbles and 3 picks..did he throw that one too?
THAT was also a HORROR show. We spent a fortune to go see that damned mess. I hate Vinnie with a passion and always will, Heisman or not. He's a bum!

Actually doesn’t sound so far off to believe Testaverde had some family back home in Queens that realized UM was an overwhelming favorite, and that a potential pay day was feasible. Pure speculation of course.

I was sitting it THAT endzone. Taking **** all night.
Right after I took this pic I screamed "f#ck all of you! We're National Champs!" and started walking out.
Some ashole then grabs me by the shoulder and says..."no, f#ck you", and points to the lower left where Porter threw the flag.

EDIT:
With todays tech, this shot could be tightened up a bit.
But why bother...

That last throw was about as bad as any throw in the history of football. I will never believe he didn't throw that title game.

To the bread basket my man. Not a single white shirt around. Not even close. And there was no pressure! Despite all of the mistakes, Miami still had the chance to win, and that throw was purposeful....u can’t tell me otherwise. NONE of his here, despite any lack of ability to play the position at that high of a level would make that throw.

This is ridiculous.

I went to school at UM then. The scooter accident was not pleasant. Vinnie had a limp during finals weeks.

On top of that, he went from November 15th (Tulsa) to January 2nd (Ped State) without playing in a game, and barely practicing.

Finally, people want to ignore the Sandusky defensive instructions, which were to attack Testaverde with everything they had, to hit him early and late, need to realize what Vinnie was up against.

Vinnie was going to be (and was) the #1 overall pick. Anyone who thinks he sacrificed years of sacrifice, and sold out his legacy (his fellow freshman Bernie Kosar won a title) for a little bit of "throw the game" money is just insane.

Lol; let me remind you of the stats:

1st Downs: Miami 22 / PSU 8
Plays: Miami 93 / PSU 59
Yards: Miami 445 / PSU 162

Vinny’s stat line: 26/50 285 5 ints

We bled Sandusky’s defense. Bludgeoned them. PSU’s QB only threw for 59 yrds that game. PSU’s defense was on the field dang near the entire game. We got Zero TDs from all these long drives as Vinny constantly over threw or just simply threw it straight to PSU’s defenders when HE WASN'T UNDER PRESSURE.

If you’re going by memory, I suggest you go back & watch the entire game on Youtube again. There’s off, and then there’s Vinny.

Hurt leg my ***.

Bro; Jim only played 11 seasons in the NFL. Vinny played for 20. Lol. If you combine Jim’s overall 13 professional career to Vinny’s 20 yrs, Kelly threw for 45k and 320 TDs v. 46k and 275 TDs for Vinny.

Context is everything.
