Acknowleding that it is OBVIOUS that there are kids being bought in recruiting doesnt somehow change the faults and shortcomings of this staff. Because you admit you can see the obvious shady sh*t going on with a kids recruitment, doesnt suddenly make you a "Fan" of the coaching or the staff.

Im sure TV had concerns about the scheme and coaching. All kids do. But this kid was committed here all year. Talked OVEr and OVEr about how he wanted to stay home, this was his hometown, blah blah.... and then he had a notorious street agent hustler running his recruitment. One who hates UM and openly trashes the staff on twitter, even as his player is meeting with the staff. But yeah, this is Kosher. Yeah, keep dreaming pal. Heaven forbid you take a 5 minute break from the Golden hate sh*tfest and see what is staring your right in the face.

Read some articles or books on CFB and recruiting some time. What many players, coaches, HS coaches, and their families have been saying and for years about how it all works.

As for Genron, as I and others have said, you take him out, and there will be 20 more just like him to take his place. So Fla is CRAWLING with characters like him. And not just So Fla, but its all over the country now. The explosion of 7 on 7 has given them an entire new structure where they can get their hooks into these kids. It has totally become AAU basketball for football.

UM cant do anything about this other than sit back and take it. They cant blow the whistle, or you will have 100 Genron's out there doing everything they can to ***** the program and turn kids away from UM. Some kids and their families will be ****ed off if they lose eligibility and get jacked up by the NCAA and the community will blame UM for snitching. Unfortunately, the other side of the coin is that UM does not have the money nor the ability right now with the NCAA mess and probation, to even try to play this game.

Ive said a few times, over the last recruiting seasons, I have come to have more sympathy for Shannon. And this is from someone who was leading the charge to fire him and thought he was the WOAT coach at UM. But as far as his **** poor recruiting in SO Fla, based on things Ive read and heard over the years, Ive come to believe this is the reason he stayed away from so many So Fla programs, and it led to the disasterous recruiting. I think Shannon refused to play the game with most of these hustlers, and only went to the places where he knew people and had a hook, and it led to what we ended up with. In contrast and to his CREDIT, I think AG has definitely tried to play the game much more in So Fla, with some limited success, but as we can plainly see, I think even he is growing tired of it, and is spending more and more time visiting other areas for talent, realizing that he's facing a lose lose situation in So Fla recruiting.

There are kids who we can legitimitely get in So Fla. But the ones playing games, whose family/friends/advisors/mentors/coaches, etc have their hands out, from shady programs, etc.... I think you are going to see us stay away from there more and more.

And Ill say one more thing. I dont think AG is stupid or Lazy. If they have been staying away from certain programs, to me, thats a huge red flag. I have absolutely NO hard evidence or proof of anything going on at American Heritage, but the word that the staff hasnt been around there much lately, to me is VERY interesting. And in contrast to many here, I dont think its because they are lazy or stupid. Just something I find very curious.

I also suspect there is going to be some interesting developments with Champagnat Catholic in the not too distant future. There is already some discussion on CS about rumors that they may get stripped of their state title, and it wouldnt surprise me. Much about the sudden rise of that program, and the very existence of that school I find curious. Again, Im not leveling any particular accusations, but players living with coaches, some of the coaches they have there, what seems to be the main point of the school, are all things that I find very curious.

Sorry i meant more of we cant recruit with the big boys....sure we will get guys here n there but to be on top u need a qb i agree or u dont. All u need is to recruit elite dl and OL. not this diamond in the rough bullshyt that people think UM can still do...this recruiting scene isnt 1999 anymore. We gotta land blue chips asap.....tv is a sure fire first round type kid, this aint marcus forston. I dont know if I totally agree with Dwins that CFB has totally passed UM by. But I think we are close, unfortunately. Anyone looking at the situation objectively should understand how difficult its become. UM is the ONLY small private university still trying to compete at this level. The ONLY reason UM is still in the game, is because of its history and where its located. But as CFB becomes an ever larger big money enterprise, a small private university, is going to have a VERY hard time trying to keep up. Just look at the money being paid to assistants and coordinators these days. Its a never ending arms race, and UM is just trying to keep afloat. As it gets harder and harder to recruit in So Fla, its going to require exceptional recruiting talent and abilities by the coaching staff, whoever it is, to keep the program competitive.

Red flags that after almost 30 years of closely follwing recruiting, having known friends that were recruited, knowing former players, etc... are a pretty good sign that something odd is going on.

In TVs case, the involvement of a notorious street agent, was a HUGE red flag from day one. As was L$U going all in after him. Whenever L$U has gone all in after a kid the way they have over TV in the past, they have left a trail of slime all the way back to Baton Rouge. Not ever kid gets bought off, not every kid needs to be bought off. But TV was a MUST get for them. L$U is desperate for DTs, lost out on other prospects, and pulled out all the stops to get TV. And when THAT program comes after kid from a poor background in So Fla, trouble is sure to follow.

I called exactly how all this was going to go down, and so far, its unfolding EXACTLY how all the other shady situations have. If it turns out differently, I would be DELIGHTED to eat crow and say I was DEAD wrong. I would love nothing more than for TV to come here, or to at least look like he's giving us a fair shot. But I highly suspect the deal has been made, and the game is over. This kid was locked down by a notorious hustler from So Fla that has been in this racket for years. So in THIS case, yes, Im going to say it smells to high ****.

I didnt accuse Brandon Powell, of taking money. I didnt accuse Travis Rudolph of taking money. I havent accused Lane or most of these other kids of being bought off. But if you dont think there is a HUGE cesspool of corrupt and shady characters and money being thrown around many of these kids, then you have your head buried in the sand my friend. And that has NOTHING to do with defending Golden, or not acknowledging shortcomings and mistakes by the staff. Its just reality. Why do you think AG and company are spending so much time in places like Jersey, Va and other states recruiting? When they have all this talent in So Fla? Because UM is under the microscope right now, and So Fla recruiting is a CESSPOOL of corruption. As some of the long time posters and people that have been following this a long time and been around So Fla football for a while. Everyone has stories. There are books, articles, documentaries about this. There are HS coaches, families, players, former players, college coaches, etc who have flat out talked about how it works. So Im not sure why this is so improbable to you.

All u need is to recruit elite dl and OL. not this diamond in the rough bullshyt that people think UM can still do...this recruiting scene isnt 1999 anymore. We gotta land blue chips asap.....tv is a sure fire first round type kid, this aint marcus forston

And u know what Ill take forston over n e one that was a dt last year even porter with his so called Sapp legacy group on here. Dude was not good and people made him out to be Wilfork and he never did n e thing to even gain that type of respect.

Losing Valentine is not why Miami won't be elite in the near future, nor is any defensive tackle recruit.

And with the way the rules are trending, this fact will become even more pronounced over the upcoming decade. Therefore, the most important defensive recruits are going to be defensive ends that can get to the passer and allow the back seven to play coverage for the shortest amount of time possible.

FSU has had excellent defenses over the past several years but always dropped a game or two to some terrible team. The difference this year was Winston.

Ill take fsus disappointments with acc titles and bcs bowls. Diference of opinions......i rather stack elite dl talent and have a garbadge qb or average at that. AJ Mcaron isnt even that good its just that dl n running game. I agree JW put them over the top but right now i would take there d without winston.....build this D and do it the way they did. They were great without him n awesome with him. We r ok with holes all over.
