Cute deflection. You've got a lot of excuses for his record vs teams with a pulse. What did he actually win here or is he still riding the coattails of the players who won a championship without him and went to the NFL. The weird thing about coaching at FIU is that every ones pities you so no one will laugh at you.

The people bashing Butch are content with the last 15 years of garbage. This is their norm. Bashing Butch and supporting failures who couldn't even win the coastal. They ignore what Butch has done for this program and bring up meaningless stats without context. Fact is, Butch would have finished what he started if we didn't have imbeciles running the show.

34 first rounders recruited, developed, and coached by him. The most in history until Satan finally tied it this year. Butch did it in a shorter time period without the SEC money. His guys didn't just get drafted, they dominated the league. Which can't be said for most of Satan's guys. A few turned out good but most underwhelmed and busted.

New research labs. New living facilities. And so forth. The university is in great shape other than recent scandals and therefore the stain they apply. I've been following this lately and there's certainly a lot of layers to this. The word coming from some people who appear to be connected is that the new President IS actually seriously interested in speaking with Meyer but it's the old guard within the BOT and Boosters who don't want anyone but "their guy" in both the AD and coach positions. They don't want anyone like Urban because he will demand complete control over not just the football program but will likely affect other personnel within the athletic department. They dont want to have a legit coach come in and tell them everything that they have been doing wrong for decades. Strength, Nutrition, support staff, etc USC is woefully behind. Someone like Meyers will demand change.

In the words of one of their reporters : "The only thing more dangerous than men seeking power are men seeking to keep power."

They have asserted that Meyer has had contact with people under the radar and is listening. They also expect Helton to be fired within the next two weeks - sooner if they get blown out by Utah this weekend.

There is also much discussion that the athletic department is in serious financial trouble - the number $25 million was thrown around as a starting point to get the athletic department back in the black over the next couple of years.

Good God you’re more blind than even I thought. Sure , it’s a given Butch, with ONE CAREER 10 win season was going to out coach Pete Carroll, who’s won NCAA titles and a super bowl and has a perennial playoff team in the NFL.
