There's not a person I know that I've enjoyed talking FB with more than Butch....
Talking Defensive FB with him was an A+...
man I would love to sit down and talk D with Butch, thats my side, I played linebacker in the old Southwest Conf. got to bust that ***** craig james *** a few times too. I have had quite a few sit downs w Jimmy but he talks in a broad sense, and those damm green beers are strong, and they keep coming.

You remember the dude in the dugout when you played high school baseball that kept the books, always could tell you your batting average in a second. Thats Go Canes, no pun just my feeling, he knows every stat imaginable but really dont know the game, if that makes sense.

I dont think Manny should be fired, I just dont think he shoulda been hired. He has the fire, and hopefully he's a fast learner but the main thing he needs to learn is if something is not getting done, hire someone who can get it done. If he can do that I think he'll be ok, and one thing he has is he know's how its SUPPOSED to be at The U.

On a side note i watched ND @ Miami yesterday, Nov 1981 OMG Jim Kelley was money, you gotta remember nobody threw like that back then, ND didnt know wtf hit em. Once they got behind and was forced to throw, well a high school team today is waaay better than they were at the foreward pass. I woulda thought after Montana had come through they would be much better than that

I was at the 81 UM vs Penn St game....
I've always said that the Most important play in UM history wasn't the tipped 2pt conv. against Nebraska...solely because there was still a min left on the clock, and Kosar was killing them with passes to Dennison, Brown and Shakespeare....we also had arguably the Best LD FG Kicker in America....The Kelly to Brodsky 80 TD pass, in my opinion was the "One Play" that made America take notice that UM was the real deal, and not no joke...
Even though we upset them 2yrs earlier at Penn St when they were ranked 20th....

This is the game that made me a Cane fan.

Absolutely....Im fully aware the boat sailed after 2013-14....My gripe has always been that we should've never let him walk...and for the people who spew the "Butch had no intentions in staying" BS....I happen to know thats 100% BS....

I always assumed Butch would eventually want an NFL HC gig. At the time, I was concerned he would be offered the Houston expansion job, given his connections in Texas.

Had he stayed past 2000, won the 2001 NC and maybe another in 2002, the NFL was eventually going to come calling with an open checkbook.

He would've stayed for a good while...

:ROFLMAO: Couldn't be more accurate.
Butch must have done something to him, he's obsessed with tearing him down.

The thing you Cult of Butch guys don't get is it's not "bashing" Butch. They are statements of fact.

He has one 10 win seasons in 20 years as a head coach. He was looking to bigger, better deal us and ultimately did bail on the Canes for more money in Clevleand. He has been fired from his last two jobs. He is 1-2 in his third year at FIU.

At the same time you dead eyed zombies regurgitate the same assumptions over and over and over and over about what he would
do here. And they're getting more preposterous every year.

He'd have 4-5 championships. He would have stopped USC's epic run. He'd have out coached Tressel in 02' and the whopper of them all...he'd be outrecruting Nick Saban right now.

And those comments are just from yesterday.

You dudes are pathetic, led by the Ray FInkel of your cult Cane in Orlando, with your tunnel vision that Butch and only Butch can save us.

Give me a break.
You regurgitate the same thing every time.

Should I remind you he built the greatest roster in history while dealing with 31 scholarship losses? He would have done all those and more. But keep supporting the failures "until it's time not to" which is when they're finally fired. Repeat the cycle of mediocrity.

Exactly....

Butch would all of a sudden stopped finding the Ed Reed's of the world and start recruiting the Robert Knowles of the world. Give me a break...
He forgot how to recruit after 2000...He also forgot how to Evaluate as well...Lol....If these Clowns knew the BS Butch dealt with in ref to the BOT and Administration....Only one other person on this site knows the real story...not some fabricated BS that these Morons keep spewing....

Butch has the chance to draft Reed and passed ignoramous:

If we are being polite, it is safe to say that the years have not been kind to Davis’ memory of what really happened in Cleveland as he conveniently left out some of the other “highlights” of his time in town, including:

Ignoring his scouts and selecting defensive lineman Gerrard Warren instead of running back LaDanian Tomlinson or defensive lineman Richard Seymour in the first round of the 2001 NFL Draft.
  • Selecting running back William Green in the first round of the 2002 NFL Draft while safety Ed Reed – one of his former players at Miami – was available.
  • Trading away a draft pick to move up one spot to select tight end Kellen Winslow in 2004 rather than quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
  • Quitting on the Browns with five games remaining in the 2004 season after having a “panic attack” during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Davis also left out the details of the Browns collapse against the Steelers in the playoff game, when Cleveland blew a 17-point lead to a Pittsburgh team quarterbacked by Tommy Maddox.

Butch lost a game and failed to win a title with the "greatest roster in history".

Then why isn't he currently recruiting and evaluating his way to a title somewhere?
