Upon Further Review- Michigan State

As another poster pointed out prior to the game, Diaz really needed to show everyone that the first two weeks were an aberration. Mario knocking off the #3 team made the spotlight on Diaz even brighter. The team then gives virtually no effort AT HOME and it is one the laziest and poorly played games I can remember. Can't say it's the worst because that could be said about any of the last five games. Its over for Diaz.

folks keep wishing for Manny to put out a different product, but the product doesn't change, lousy OL play, drops, miss tackles, poor fundamentals, penalties, lousy special teams. Its all flash, and dash, but now cash.

I am 100% sure this board could run the program better than Blake, Manny and their band of clowns. Every week “fans on a message board” find issues and solve problems the coaches can’t?

There is zero chance Manny watches film on his own defense, bc if he did and saw what we just saw, he would resign. He wouldn’t survive 2 minutes in the room with Lance.
He hired a defensive specialist, he has Ed Reed hall of famer, who play on Hall of Fame defenses, how can it be this bad.

I think unc might put up 300/300 on us. Their running game is no joke. They will throttle us. And now uva finally has a good qb? Bronco is gonna eat manny’s lunch and then kick him in the face.
I think we start seeing a different defense this week, Manny cannot be this crazy to continually expose his defense with these senseless blitzes, and poor alignments .

Lol, his defense is his defense. Sure, he may sprinkle the game with some different play calls but in general, our defense is what it is. A new scheme won’t help us tackle better or prevent us from missing assignments

IMO, the order is Golden>Richt>Diaz. I'm sure plenty will disagree, but the success of the 2017 season was mostly due to Al Golden recruits. There was nothing that Richt did in 2017 that had the team exceeding its potential besides the ND game (he certainly wasn't outscheming opponents). In 2018, when the bulk of the roster was made up of Richt recruits, we saw which way the team was headed and it was not good. Richt and Diaz were terrible talent evaluators/developers. 2017 had two miracle catches that made it so Miami finished 10-3 instead of 8-5. NKosi Perry saved Richt and Miami from a 6-7 season in 2018, as that FSU game should have been an L. If Lady Luck hadn't been on our side big time, Richt's 3 year record would have been 9-4, 8-5, 6-7. Then Diaz (with a team of basically all Richt and Diaz recruits) followed with 6-7. The crazy thing is that in a season where Golden got fired midway through the season, we still finished 8-5 with an interim coach! Based on what I've seen so far, I don't think the team is going to break .500 this season with Diaz as HC.
You can't even blame Richt, he was ready to retire, he was tire and wanted to enjoy time with his wife. I think Blake basically was groveling Richt to help out his alma mater. You got from Richt the best he had, the poor guy was running on a empty tank.

This is sickening. FIRE MANNY NOW! He's in so far over his head it's unreal. Blake James hired him and created this mess. What a colossal embarrassment ...

It is a pay deal, so I'll send a copy of the page. I thought Steed played better than the grade and made some plays in this game. This is for the entire season, not just game. Honestly, always feel bad saying anything negative about a player because I know family/friends might see it. Respect the heck out of your kid for fighting through adversity like he has.

Like I always say. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I like what you are doing and it brings a lot to this forum. I just try to make sure the things said are accurate concerning 17 whether good or bad, even though I know that can be impossible sometimes.

Steed is the best healthy LB right now, and he's making progress. But we desperately need someone to step up and start consistently making plays. Good play is as infectious as bad play. There's a leadership vacuum on the field. Hall, Bolden, Ivey, McCloud, Ford, Nesta ... all the senior guys you'd expect to see leading the team to greatness, they're just not cutting it. Steed can fill that void if he can take that next step.

I believe it was actually a play-action call. The OL blocked the wrong way but there was no read on it unless it was a QB draw based on the left DE but King was looking downfield from the start (another issue of not selling the fakes).
It would still be a bust without a read.

As you should. If it were my son I’d have to retire from all social media.

Can’t imagine the work, time, effort, love that was put into him getting this far after what he’s gone through.

We have severe scheme issues at times...but we also have ****ty players. (both of which coaches are responsible for)

But this is where we are right now.

Steed is finally looking healthy and trusting his legs a little more. First it was diagnosing and getting there and a little short on the tackling and now it seems to be coming fully together. A lot can be said about our system doing him no favors but young guy has looked the part lately! No doubt he’s the best LB right now. Great to have you guys in the U fam

But yall mocked me for talking about our defense allowing ALL 3 OF OUR QB's TO EXCEL in off-season scrimmages...

"iT's JuSt A sCrImMaGe BrO!"

"sMh At JuDgInG sCrImMaGe StAtS! tHe QBs WeReN't EvEn LiVe!"

They made our offense look all-world in practice and here we are...offense struggling versus formidable opponents and the defense giving up easy ****. (like I said would happen!)

Tried to tell yall MF'ers.
This defensive scheme doesn't make anything hard for the offense.
It doesn't take the field with an objective to stop anything specific.
It lines-up the same way versus every opponent and hopes to create enough "chaos" that the offense will **** itself. And if it doesn't, it's swiss fvckin' cheese.

What's even more pathetic is, the things that we allow the most are staples of today's modern offenses. (quick-game, intermediate throws, zone runs)
It's like this fvckin' guy has NO CLUE what today's offenses are trying to do or what they're predicated on.
We might be the only defense in the entire country that hasn't utilized the Tite front yet. We're so vanilla and behind the times.

A lot of truth being spoken here.

Forget the scrimmage, look what offenses have been doing to this defense. Look at all the open WRs every single week. Look at the running lanes. Look at the free releases off the line for years. Look at the way we give up outside leverage for years. Just to name a few issues If people needed to see the scrimmage or anything this year to see the problem, they've just been blindly ignoring the obvious

I've never coached football and can see the insanity of blitzing and watching the secondary back off 10 yards and allow quick throws for 8 yards (and plus if there's a missed tackle)
