Update on Transfer DE's

We add these two guys to go with what we have we will probably have a better outside pass rush than last year. That’s a strong potential 4 man rotation

Hill should be a take all day!

One year rental who is in his "money year" like how willis treated last season! Not to mention you know he's good for a minimum of 2 sacks against VT lol

The Portal is like the free market. Once bag schools monopolized recruiting it was hard for non bag schools to compete and then love and behold, the portal comes in at with loosened restrictions and now teams like Miami have another option of adding quality and blue Chip depth faster than ever before. Now we can compete with the big boys and not add fringe 3 star guys that would be dead weight in our roster but high impact/ Savage players.
Exactly and we have an advantage with the portal because it’s like free agency in the pros. And location is one of the biggest sellers in the pros and now in college to guys on a 1 or 2 or even 3 year stay. We’re like the lakers of cfb always getting he studs on there second destination from where they were drafted. Great time to be a hurricane again and def helps level the field with us versus the bag schools. 👍🙌

Miami is mulling over adding two more transfers from the portal, both on the defensive line. Former Virginia Tech DE Travon Hill and former UCLA DE Jaelan Phillips have both publicly expressed interest in transferring to Miami and I can confirm there is mutual interest from UM’s side as well. However, Miami is doing their due diligence here and vetting both before making them surefire takes, as both Hill (off-field) and Phillips (medical) had issues at their previous stops. If UM decides they want them, I’m told UM feels very confident that they will land both, and there doesn’t seem to be other real contenders for either at this time. Phillips in particular is trying to set up an official visit to UM for this weekend. The ball seems to be in Miami’s court on this one.

Stefan, how serious are the past injuries for Phillips and can this be an issue with staff taking a chance on him? I read he had sustained at least one concussion (maybe 2)?

I don't get into all the bad crap as it's a crutch, but what makes you think same won't happen here soon.

Too bad we can't promote the tax advantages.

You know what's a real tax advantage? Cash payments in duffel bags. Do you think Georgia and Alabama gross up salaries when they hire relatives or gross up the net take home to the amount promised when they buy someone's house over market value?

Hill Garvin Patchan Rousseau Harvey Phillips. I’ll take that anyday. Can’t Phillips play LB too?

At this point take them both. We need plug and play for at least this year in order to begin building some reputation back that can equate to real HS recruiting
