Lol yall were saying the same exact thing about toney when he decommitted. Or did we forget?.
Not sure I did, but point taken.

At the very least, you'd acknowledge that the timing of this recruiting development with him is odd? Terrible timing? That alone makes the situation different than Toney going through his process after officially reclassifying.

If guys are talented enough I would fight for them until the end.

I understand that we want guys who want to be canes, but we don't want to close off talented recruits because they get their heads turned.

Keep winning and trying to get the best talent that have good character and work ethic. Like the poster said Malachi decommitted and then came back. Thank god we didn't give up on him.

For reasons others have explained here, the FMV limit on NIL means that it is very unlikely this kid makes substantially more money at UNC, certainly not in his first year.

Look, we can offer a reasonable bag increase, but Mario has a budget for these kind of things. He doesn't want bag chasers on the team.

I suspect that the Street Agent or the Regular Agent got a call from Chapel Hill offering a Rookie Contract for Three Years promising that the "Kid Will Start" and "Bill Will Make Sure That The Kid Is A First Rounder" Because "Belichick".

Parents don't know how many bridges Bill Belichick has burned in the League, but what they don't know won't hurt them.

This is what Mario is probably having to deal with.

That’s why I’m glad Mario is running recruiting and not these dorks on this board

from a negotiating standpoint the timing may be perfect for them.

Or to me may backfired because belichik just got handed in first game then made like an *** banning patriots from coming to scout his guys.

hey unc raised the nil on flowers too who reclassified....they promise big bags i guess. flowers almost went there but ended at uf

What school you coach at again, somewhere in Broward? I am going to drive up there and support you, as long as you are playing anyone but Miami High. You are always here giving good information on some of the prep football scene. Thank you.

Have no idea if it’s true but would be a perfect answer to your question. Hopefully someone can confirm this

I can confirm a Broward coach was ****ing and moaning about this. They "why" I can't say. I doubt we were exclusively petty. Probably supply and demand thing. The recruits had priority.

I guess, but the narrative that's out there from a quote from someone in his camp that he's decommitting from Miami due to competition and going to UNC for a guaranteed spot and money that seems to be a bad look (not the money part by the way).

I don't remember Toney ever hinting at that when he decommitted; instead, he came out (if I'm remembering correctly) saying that he wanted to do his due diligence since his timeline was ramped up now due to reclassifying.

Wasn’t one of the main reasons he committed to honor his dead mother? Doesn’t seem like someone who mentions that as a motivation would flip to a team that looks terrible for a bag.
After I believe it was Ruben foster the Bama LB flipped from Auburn to bama even with an Auburn tattoo on his body I realized that if the number gets right there is no holding back

This is a lie. The coaches that were crying about this showed up late which is why they ended up sitting up top. I can't imagine acting this entitled when your paycheck is $1374.27 for the season lol
