Unpopular here but the hatred for coaches is bizarre

Understand your feelings, however, watching the same thing for 20+ years in a row now, playing down to competition and losing to said competition is getting annoying. You’re right Mario is all cane himself, however he lives in the past when it comes to offensive identity he wants to be. The players we recruit aren’t built for ground and pound, they want space and the ball to get going and show their ability, he’s not doing that. Brashard Smith usage or lack thereof is downright criminal and he has shown the ability to make plays when his number is called. 2017 when we whacked Notre Dame we were on top of the world, ESPN pundits were saying “the U is back” we all felt that way, then it was back to “well they’re not quite back yet”, then we drill A&M this year and the same thing happens, we’re back, and then Georgia Tech happens, so forgive us fans who are tired of watching the same thing over and over again, losing to lower competition and G5ers, wasted drives, horrible clock management, horrible coaching, although the defensive side of the ball is rolling. Groundhog Day 2 is coming out, well it came out 20 years ago and we’re the featured lead character, that’s what we’re ****ed off about.

Maybe instead of us being ‘a player away’
we are actually’a head coach away’ from being good.
Happy Season 5 GIF by The Office

Luckily we will hire another Miami guy.

Oh man can’t wait till we rise I wonder how all these experts going to look. Never will I listen to them again.

I thee than that bring me Shemar Stewart to shore up that DE spot. Can set the edge and run we need that and with jumbo gone we should make a push.

what no one talks about with Michigan is JH immediately improved them. they went 10-3 3 out of his first 4 years including the first two seasons. the reason he got on the hot seat was bc he couldn't beat OSU and would flirt with the NFL. he didnt struggle out of the gate. that is a myth people tell themselves. he got results overnight.
Totally agree-When your the HC at Michigan they define you by how you play that hated rival Ohio St.-
The media and fan base was all over him until he finally got it done-
Meyer owned him.

agreed. I was just commenting on how people on this board think it took Harbaugh 5 years to finally win. nah he was winning double digit games with the leftovers immediately. it was the game that brought in the question marks.

Until Miami goes 15-0 with a win margin of at least 17 per game..whomever is on the sidelines will be “corch” any given Saturday..I sat next to passionate fan yesterday who claimed MC didn’t know what he was doing by not starting JB..I laughed off the first 5 times and discussed why he wasn’t playing..but when Emory got hurt and he was sad brown wasn’t getting the nod I snapped and told him bro is Tebow rn with a stronger arm..problem is ain’t no Aaron Hernandez or Percy harvin etc etc to make him look good..bottomline until we see results coach criticism will be rampant
Dude this board set the standard at 8-9 gamea , let’s not act like there was crazy standards here. The bar was far from too high for the prodigal son

Brother Shemar is about as warm body on the field as it gets. I know he would fit the model of underachieving former Miami homerun.

agreed. we lowered the expectations and acted like you can't win right away. you can and its being done all over CFB. ****, even nick Saban went 12-1 in the reg season in year 2 with a team that wasn't his own recruits or even turned over. good coaches figure it out and can figure it out even faster now.

No doubt-

In your opinion what needs to be done here for us to get where Michigan is?

You think Mario gets us there?

Norvell is there now but, can he sustain it?

IDK myself it’s hard as **** to win now compared to the 80’s it’s so competitive now.

Even when MR won 8 games then the bowl 9..during that season we had the same attitude..ppl were questioning MR..manny had his one decent season ppl were still bashing especially the “never manny” “lazy hire” crowd. All I’m saying is we do it for every coach. We definitely see a better product on field year over year..we see better overall talent..and we are seeing player development..we aren’t there yet..and it’s year 2..nobody predicted the sr QB would mentally breakdown in ACC play

I get being passionate and wanting nothing more than to see this program back on top. I truly do, but there is a difference between being critical and downright hating coaches. Trust me. I wasn't too thrilled about that Ga Tech game. But JC boys. I mean, people are still obsessed with hating Golden and Diaz. Is there something I missed? Was there a story that came out that showed Golden and Diaz conned their way into getting the job just to secretly sabotage the program? I guess we live in a country now where conspiracy theories are real news so maybe that's it? Not only is there so much hate, but to one of our own?? What?? CMC has more Miami Hurricane in him that many fans combined. Again, I understand being critical, but some take this way too far. Not to mention, if you truly take a step back, you would see significant progress. I am still convinced we were a top QB from possibly being undefeated. One player could have had this board singing a much different tune. So being a message board guy since Grassy(boy do i miss that board), I know Ill get the typical "alpha male"(another loser term) responses or the responses that have nothing to do with what I said, and thats cool. I am probably asking for it but for me, win or lose Mario is a true Cane and thats enough for me to tone down the rhetoric.
No....our Offensive game-plans (Aside from A&M) have been straight up trash. Miss me with that "Emory is a true freshman" BS....our running plays are a complete abortion. No creativity whatsoever. Same F-ing play over, and over again.

Once again the entire board was setting the bar at 8 games and this is as negative of a bunch as you’ll find. After the whole GT disgrace Mario put himself behind the 8 ball and has yet to get out of the way.

I think Harbaugh is a way better coach than Mario is and better program builder. hes got proven NFL success and built up a bad Stanford program that laid the foundation for Shaw as well to have continued success until recently.

Norvell - I think is a better x and o guy but he isnt the recruiter Mario is, but thats not as important as it used to be with NIL and transfer portal. Norvells best coaching job was his development of Jordan Travis. look at what JT looked like against us 3 years ago in Miami when we smoked them to now. its pretty remarkable. this success under Norvell is probably not sustainable due to the amount of transfers he brought in but winning will always attract kids and who knows what happens this offseason depending on FSUs close. Norvell also has 8 years of HC exp and in those 8 years hes won double digits 4 times (twice at Memphis, twice at FSU). he isnt elite but he isnt a bum people make him out to be.

we aren't getting out of the Mario deal no matter what. hes got support and that deal is too exp for a program like us to buy out of. we better hope the light goes on but were entering year 3 which is the pivotal year for any HC. if he can't win 10+ next year, its fair to question if it will ever happen consistently. it'll take some therapy for Mario to adapt and change his ways. fisher who won a title and coached 4 first round picks at QB couldn't adapt and died at ATM even w the insane amount of talent.

right now, I dont see much of a diff between Manny and Mario tbh. the offense improved after year 2 under Manny where as the D improved here under Mario and OL play. our O is still bad just as our D fell off under Manny as HC either w baker or himself. I do think Mario is obviously the better coach hands down but I dont see him as this savior others do based on what we see right now.

for our sake, hopefully we do turn it around and win big bc there isnt another option. UM football will either die or succeed w Mario.

You comparing ppl to Nick Saban…then categorize that’s as “good coach’s”? you serious? Lol Saban is 1of1 that’s the GOAT..and it’s happened overnight at which places..and which of those places we’re approaching a 20 year drought of not winning anything? This **** is a rebuild and was gunna be that

we also won 9 in year 1 w MR with a team that al golden got boat raced and high schooled by Clemson in his fifth year. if Mario had won 9 in year 1, no one would give a ****. further, richt followed up a 9 win year 1 with a 10 win year 2.

I will be honest, I haven’t seen anything over the line. Doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened but there is some true hate going on right now in the world that i am sure I don’t have to mention but its on the news every night. The worst i have seen is someone saying **** Mario but I am sure Mario said that much about Hannah (the ref) yesterday.

It’s not for him to get 10 sacks he would be there to set the edge and let the younger guys coming in not be rushed. That’s all we need lol. He doesn’t have to be a super star he just has to have speed for his size (pause) to help on those runs. He can run we don’t need him to be a top ten pick.
